When will Martinez grow up? Somebody please tell him that an "approach" is very different to an offer. Now FSG have publically stated that they never made an offer to Martinez so there's an end to that. Like JK I'm really glad they did because it looks as though the limit of his capability is in or around the relegation zone.

He's a good manager though, done a pretty good job with the team he's got, playing attractive football. This team was long due in the Championship, big deal they are still in the top flight. His teams do have a terrible defensive record , maybe that's more to do with the players at his disposal.
But i still think he'd do a good job at a top club.

Results just do not support that contention.

You can play all the pretty football that you want. You may even win enough matches to just stay in the Premiership but you'll only be repeating West Ham's history - entertain for a few season then get relegated.

I would like to see him in a team with real decent players. Arsenal. I wanted him at Spurs before AVB got the job. But I admit I thought it would weaken them.

    Me or Martinez?

I do like Martinez but I feel we definitely got the better of the two managers.

  8. I meant Martinez. There is absolutely no need to make it. I'm assuming it was beforehand? In an attempt to somehow unsettle BR?

It was months ago before the Anfield fixture. But Wigan have only got worse since then so I thought it was worth bringing up.

  10. Oh right, thought it was recent. IMO, it doesn't really matter when it was, it shouldn't be mentioned and I don't see what he has to gain by saying it either unless he and BR don't get on? Glad we battered them 4-0 today, Dave Whelan making a special trip from Barbados for the game put the icing on the cake too <laugh>

We battered them 8-0 over the season, this is our bogey team. I missed the Anfield game, and by the time I got the game on last night I missed all 4 of our goals. Probably would have won 7-0 if I hadn't put it on. <doh>

Never been that convinced by him to be honest.

He needs to jump ship if he has any ambition. Wigan sell their best players and then re-start over and over again.

If he was offered a job by us then he should have taken it.

I was surprised when he turned down Aston Villa.
