http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...new-clubs-after-football-league-axe-1-7981885 11 ex safc players released and now have no clubs. Inc. K Jones. A Ferdinand. D Collins. M Kilgallon. What now. Do they sit around hoping for a call from a club or is this purely down to agents to touts them (does every player have/got to have an agent)? For example. Take K Jones. I guess he'll have an agent. But how long does he wait and to what level of football do you sink to before you call it a day?
Steven Gerrard of Liverpool never had an agent. Just negotiated his own deals. The blokes you mentioned, would they still be paying an agent? Coming to the end of their careers I would have thought they would get a better response from clubs without an agent getting his fee.
Thats what im getting at. Surely they all dont have agents. So how do they get new clubs? Its not like theres an agency showing vacancies. Wanted 6'2 striker. Must be able to do backflips as a scoring celebration
Must just tout themselves about. They will still have mates playing who will be asking managers to give them a trial and if it works out sort some wages out.
On loan to Al Jazira from cardiff. So if cardiff have released him guess they get him for free now. If they want.
I think the PFA have a list of available free players and it's their duty to help them find new clubs. All clubs will have access to the list. Obviously bigger names will be sorted before they're even leaving/released from their previous club.
