The three games i have watched so far Brentford,Leeds,Burnley.

All three games, we have played the better football.

However we have not won a single game.

All three teams are nothing to be scared off,two of them supposedly top six.
However our biggest concern is putting the ball in the
    Net.
We need new blood at a better level than we have.
Pointless offering silly transfer fees,if we do not wish to pay the going rate in wages.
One thing those three games show me, we need signings,if we want too stay out of the relagation battle before the window shuts.

Cotts knows this - which is why we have been after a striker in the main.

I wonder if a 'plan B' with JET coming off the bench would have worked in any of those games(?).

Without trying to dress a defeat up as a victory, the positives are we are dominating teams and creating chances.

I think someone is in for a hiding soon.

I think we might need to change shape until we get the right players in. Whilst the current shape
creates a lot it also leaves the back door open. In saying that same players are making mistakes game after
game. Pack gets caught in possession time after time and fails to track the runners. Williams and to some extent Ayling
cannot seem to get the right balance of when to go forward and when to stay back. The Burnley goals today were
shocking lapses of concentration at set pieces. Little was a passenger today and Wilbs & Kodjia were too far a part.
I think the longer this current spell goes on the more it effects confidence and nerves. This will only change
with 3-5 players of championship quality, needed to steady the ship.

    Thats not going to happen
We have effectively 2 days left, and if 1 comes through the door it will be a matter for rejoicing.

Whoever decided not to back our manager back in May has created a major balls-up of the club's season

Easy tiger - there is plenty of time to climb - we are not in the relegation places - and plenty of positives to cling to.

If we were being outplayed and had no money then I would be worried.

Right now I'm annoyed and a little bemused, but not worried.

In a few weeks time I may feel differently mind!

Do you also think Chelsea will have a relegation battle as well?

Crap threads are not necessarily the source of crap thoughts. Something is wrong whichever way you look at the current situation with our club and all the excuses can't hide the fact that we were not prepared for this higher level football. Can we put our house back in order - yes of course we can but it is going to take way more work and attention to detail than I have seen since my heady trip to Wembley.

Management have let the supporters down and their promises for our future seem to ring very hollow right now, and I don't apologise for my thoughts. Will it all come good and allow us to disappear back in to the bushes, only other people can make that happen.

What everyone forgets is that believe it or not the wage bill is still higher than the income or very close to it. SL might have **** loads of money but it's still a business.

But common sense seems to escape a few, who think that we can just spend this and that on players.

Ok we have problems but making chances isn't one of them.
Settle down guys, we know we fu**ed up our pre season signings but we are where we are right now.
I have faith that Cotterill will eventually get in the right players.
Possibly after the window shuts and he alluded to that post match on Radio Bristol.

The thing is ROD, we MUST spend if we are going to mount a serious challenge for the Prem.
We may be lucky enough to cling onto Championship status without spending, but for serious ambitions the cheque book will need to come out - and even that doesn't guarantee success - as we know too well.
Given our reduced capacity we have an impeded capacity to earn gate money. That means that SL will need to continue to bankroll us - if that is indeed his aim to see us in the Prem.

As I said earlier - I am not worried about relegation, but my excitement of surfing the wave we created last season to the Prem has waned somewhat.

I have no worries at all that we will be safe (maybe not promoted or playoffs), slight concern that we have struggled to recruit, but am absolutely sure because of the way we are playing we will come good. As posted ^ someone is in for a right hiding soon. Things will improve, a couple of new players to keep the faithful on their toes and watch us fly.

Much as we can all dream of going straight up, this season is all about consolidation. But we need some more championship experienced players to help us with this.

First half we were on top and our play deserved at least a one goal lead. We were undone but 2 almost identical, precision headers before half time and didn't deserve that. On another day, the thickness of a coat of paint made the difference between the game staying 0-2 and Williams scoring a beauty.

2nd half, Burnley looked like what they are- A premier league team that came down. A look though their teamsheet, almost twice the size of ours, had big names in every department. Heaton, now captain, looked a class act .

For me though, 2nd half we looked a bit lost. Bryan was quiet, Little admittedly still gaining full fitness control deserted him at times. The front two struggled against a well marshalled pair of centre backs and overall we seemed to run out of ideas.

Man of the match for me was Bobby Reid. Burns also played well when he came on, but to be fair, both of these struggled to get in what was a league 1 side.

Maybe we have been missing Freeman, but midfield whilst controlling the ball well needed more invention.

Spot on Rp, early days, i, like you, have faith in our manager, to make the right signing and climb the table, its a consolidation season in my mind, we are a first division side taking a big step up, it takes time, but looks like some posters can not except that.

We can talk about all the failings and positives about Bristol City but the simple answer is that we probably aren't good enough to sustain a challenge based on performances to date. Will we survive - I think so, but only if we don't create an atmosphere of doom, gloom and poison that could lead to dissent from all angles because the downhill slope gets a lot steeper and slippier when things start to unravel.

Has anybody told the management that we are now playing a different game than last year which means the rules have probably changed with it? Wake up for goodness sake.

Clearly I don't get to see the games like the vast majority on here, however, I am picking up on a theme that Pack is a bit of a liability in the middle, is this a correct assumption?
