Lennon said after the match with St Johnstone that we would be signing a forward in the next few days. Where the hell is he? Getting fed up being told a lot of bollocks by our club. I bet you we end up taking someone on loan on the last day of the transfer window.
Stereo I told you yesterday, that Celtic will not be paying out good money for a striker. If Celtic buy a striker they won't pay £4m for him. Its simple Celtic have not got the money to buy and pay for a striker. You are right Celtic will sign a loan striker just before window closes.
I'm not expecting us to go out and spend £4m on anyone. All I said was that Lennon said there was a new forward lined up to join us and so far there's no sign of one.
Stereo, I know you might find this hard to believe, but no matter how hard anyone tries no one can be sure of when exactly a player will sign. In fact something could happen and maybe he won't sign at all. I am sure Neil Lennon did not deliberately set out to mislead anyone and let us hope its only the timing is out and not the whole deal. However as I said before I agree with you that we will probably sign a loan player at the close of window. I thought your opening post indicated that you thought Lennon was talking about buying a player but we would have to do with a loan. On the basis That I thought you thought Lennon was talking about buying I was pointing out that Celtic would not pay £4m for a striker. As you know you don't get a inexperienced quality striker for as little as £4m. I am sorry I misinterpreted your post and I will do my best to read your future posts several times before commenting.
Goes to our convo last night, I think Lennon is setting himself up for a fall if they don't get a good striker in. Do you think it could be the case that he said it in a way to deflect a little attention away from the result? I have had a look about a striker and can't even see a murmer about 1 coming in which is unusual these days.
The whole business of the epl sides picking their 25 and seeing if there are any crumbs to fall from the table is particularly galling but that might be the game. I don't think Lennon is setting himself up for a fall at all. The celtic support are regularly sold the same line. Lawwell is the man who will get the ire. Lennon will give us the same guff we always get,"we tried". As a support, we hope for something different to happen. we are long since past falling for it. I have no doubt Lennon went to the board and said "I want X,Y, Z" I have no doubt the board made representations about x, y, z. I don't know that Lennon kicked the door in to ask why we failed to get x, y, z.
[ QUOTE= superhoops; Strange that name calling is allowed on any respectable Celtic forum [/QUOTE] I agree SH. Humour, no problem but..... "Down with this sort of thing" .... "Careful now" TTC!
The one man superhoops fans...do you know him, as you always appear to fight his corner! The guy's either a wum, a child or a timposter! If he is actually a Celtic fan then he's a ****in clown!
No, Pud, I don't know SH nor do I agree with a lot of what he says, by any means but I honestly think his points should be answered (or not, as the case may be, if you don't think they merit an answer). My inclination is to tend to support the 'underdog' and SH seems to have more than his fair share of detractors. However, maybe you can enlighten me? What purpose is served by making a one line, 'smart arse' insulting, remark that is neither funny nor clever? I like 'funny' and/or 'clever'.... and actually I'm not 'raging' about all of this....I just like to see a bit of fair play. As a Celtic fan, do you not empathise with that view? You may, of course , be correct in your assessment of SH as a "WUM,...or timposter" (and if that is the case he is 'damned clever', highly entertaining and many of his posts are a welcome change from the nasty posts by some others which have appeared on this forum) but I don't believe so. At times he may get overly exercised about a topic and there does appear to be a naivety in some of his posts which also can appear very funny (whether intentionally so or not) but, having read many of his posts, he comes across to me as a genuine, ardent, Celtic fan. Whether he is an adolescent or otherwise is neither here nor there to me. (Oh dear, I do seem to have written an essay on this....I must have cared more about it than I thought! LOL!
Just messing, next SH post I see, I am going to give it a thoughtful response. I haven't really commented on his posts yet....at least I don't think I have.
RB - Good man! He's certainly different.....but surely that's to be welcomed? I look forward to reading your responses - good luck with your encounters! LOL!
Hoops but you (if a real fan, I think your are) need to not get upset if I call you a name no malice intended I just felt it conveyed my feeling about your post.
