Liverpool played very well and huge credit must go to them today, i thought they out worked us and closed us down very well, rodgers brought his A game and we had a few iffy performances from our midfield, all in all its fair to say that Liverpool shaded it, we had chances and they had chances, though i think they had the better ones.

How far have we come when im dissapointed when we draw to Liverpool!! their best players for me were Enrique,Johnson and suarez their wide players had the beating of us out wide and rangel was again very sloppy in his play.
Leon to me looks like he is feeling the pressure, not his usual self again today but we must give credit to liverpool for the way they closed us down.

I think rodgers knew the best way to stiffle us and it worked well for them, i also thought we felt the pressure today, almost like it was a must win game, maybe the occasion got the better of us perhaps.

My man of the ,match was pablo, who looks very dangerous in the final 3rd and some of his passes were sublime, i must give a special mention to Tremmel who could also lay claim to man of the match, he did make some great saves and looked very good today,it made me eat my words about him and im more than happy to do it as well!!

I put us down for a 1-1 draw or tight win, as it turned out it was a point gained, we remain on our unbeaten run and worked hard for 90mins to combat Liverpools threat.

Chico is just getting better with each game, looks like he could be a hell of a player if he stops his theatrical tendencies!! though in fairness to him he knows how to play the ref and that is something we lack at this level!!

Im happy with the result, Liverpool will be a bit dissapointed but they could also have lost a goal.

so we remain unbeaten against LFC and move onto WBA, this will be a massive game(arnt they all!) and dispite their fantastic form i feel this will be a more winnable game than against Liverpool.

We dont have to play the occasion against them and i felt we did that today which made us lose a bit of focus at critical times.

2 good teams today, liverpool are progressing very nicely and once they can move gerrard out of the team they will be the real deal i think !

    Thoughts on today ?

Yes Liverpool edged it for me, we seemed a bit off our pace today, De Guzman was average, but he was not on his own, Williams and Rangel were keeping him company too. thought we should have started with Dyer for this one, and was very dissapointed he didn't come on half time for Routledge, poor lad got just 20 minutes? I thought Leon had a good game, though he did give the ball away too, but for me that was down to De Guzman, who left Leon on his own far too much, thought that Agustien should have come on at least at 60 minutes, for De Guzman. Hernandez was my man of the match, he really is starting to show his talent! I said before the game on the Liverpool board that this was going to be a tight one, and a likely draw, anyway it's not all bad, we've moved up to a respectable 8th, 'Up The Mighty Swans' aye.............<cheers>

A fair assessment I think. If it were a fight, I'd have Liverpool edging it on points. We had too many poor performances today. Britton, Michu, Rangel and de Guzman were sloppy by their standards. I agree that Hernandez is really starting to impress. A good point given the disjointed performance......and what was up with the crowd? Very flat.

Considering some of our players were below par today, I thought it was a well earned point. Will need to improve to get a result on Wednesday night though <ok>

I don't know about being a lucky point... not sure where the luck was apart from when they hit the bar - but then again that wasn't luck - just the fact the shot wasn't on target. It's like saying Liverpool were lucky because Pablo shot over the bar.
Happy with a point as I don't think we did enough to win or lose it really.

We certainly didn't deserve to lose so I wouldn't call it lucky.
Neither team deserved to lose, a draw was a fair result

Agree , I though both sides did enough to pinch it and theft it would have been .We negated each other , our final ball in the box was wayward and a lack of composure cost us today , but another point gained is better than 3 lost .Ben Davies is better each game and he had his hands full picking up Sterling but kept going and won more ball than he lost today .

I was surprised by some of Ki's passing. Brilliant player but he lost the ball a lot and quite often the passes seemed underhit or quite dangerous (towards the end he rolled a pass straight to one of their players in the box). Dyer should really have started - especially with Liverpool's weakness in the full back positions. Bringing the game inside is exactly what they'd want. De Guzman, after a good run, wasn't great today... so should really have come off a little earlier.

That said, Hernandez, Williams, Chico and Davies all played well... just a few too many middling performances for us to take the game to them.

I think when you rack up the incidents

    - Tremmel save from Johnson
    - Sterling crossbar
    - Enrique marginal offside goal
    - Sterling ruining a 2 on 1

We should have won. But, we didn't. Nice that there weren't any refereeing gaffs today, just two teams playing good football. First half was very enjoyable.

Amazing how quickly your club has progressed.

"we should have won" .... bit of a stretch. All match metrics around 50/50. Sloppy and uninspiring game all around. There were high points from some players on both teams, but in general final pass on every move was sloppy.

My thoughts too Goodland, Laudrup didn't get the selection quit right for me today, Dyer would have caused no end of problems on Liverpool's back line, what's he expected to do in 20 minutes, I hope Laudrup starts appreciating Dyer a bit more than he is showing of late!..............<ok>

Whether a player is on for 2 minutes, 20 minutes or 2 halves, he is expected to be effective when playing his position and performing his role, which means he executes - good first touch, passes well, tackles well, makes good runs off the ball, positions well, etc. Dyer is OK, but in comparison to Routledge is no better, nor worse. I think in general Routledge has the better first touch, ability to beat players and crosses better - but it's marginal - in other words R or D, D or R, toss-up. On any given day one of them might shine better than the other.

I'd go for Dyer - but the bottom line is he is not showing his form of last season. He seems to prefer going backwards instead of taking opponents on and running into space this season.

We missed Ki first half but he should be OK for Wednesday. Not sure why Schecter was on the pitch - Luke Moore would have done a better job holding the ball up for us today.

Two points dropped against a team below us in the League. A tough task on Wednesday when a proper Top 4 Club comes to The Liberty.

    Up the Jacks <ok>

just as was predicted a close fought match that both teams should be happy with a draw.... Liverpool had the better chances well not better but more dangerous chances but we coped very well. we owned joe allen in midfield and that was a surprise and i think Brendan must have had a word with him at half time as he was much better after that, I could not understand the Muppet booing him when he had the ball though....good game that Liverpool done their homework on us and stopped our players playing to a degree. If they had snatched it 1-0 then we would have had no complaints but fair play to my MOM tremmel he made some super saves......still its another point towards safety and we move on to the team who has taken the season by storm with WBA that we could find ourselves in the same position as today in that our back 5 will be busy....

My only thought is that they have slightly different games - R likes to come inside and D likes to go down the line. It just felt that, with the two players of a similar level, I would go for the player who attacked down the line to keep Downing back. The danger with the opposition playing a winger as full back is that they can then operate as two wingers if you don't keep them busy.

I always think - what would the opposition manager want? Rodgers would have been worried about wingers taking on Downing and getting to the by-line, I know I would have worried about that, and Dyer might have been able to draw an "attackers tackle" in the box from him. I felt that, their two centre halves are defensively strong so you would need to look for areas of weakness.

It wasn't a huge gaffe, but I thought it was a missed opportunity.

PGF's prob right - Moore would have done a better job than Schecter at keeping the ball upfront. Something we had trouble with today.

Also, very pleased that Tremmell seems to be grabbing his opportunity. I'm always impressed with a player who waits patiently, never creates a fuss, and is then ready for when he's needed. I genuinely thought before that we needed a new reserve keeper, but I go back on that. He's perfectly good cover and he's starting to make Vorm's position a little less comfortable. Well doen to him.

I'd have complained if they snatched it. We played poorly today bit still Liverpool did not deserve to win. 2 points dropped if anything
