    With all LFC's transfer dealings today occupying everyone's thoughts, i thought i would provide a brief distraction with my reaction to the Hearts game last night.

    a couple of short points;

    Firstly, i was glad to see we have started to get more men in the opposition box this season. under dalglish (legend) last season we seemed to push up the field with one player at a time(!) said player would get into the box and have little option but to shoot at goal due to the infuriating lack of support. there were a number of occasions last night where we got the ball in the box and there were 2 or 3 LFC players in there with it. A positive.

    Secondly, and i make this point with the highest respect to Hearts but we were playing "lower tier" opposition and struggled. last night was a good opportunity to put out a strong side and batter the other team. we had plenty of possession but did precious little with it! Hearts could easily represent a Wigan or a QPR, a team we should comfortably beat at home and yet we floundered. this was the case last season and i fear it could be the same this season. A negative.

    Now we all know that LFC need another striker and i hope to god we get one, but last night we only had a few shots on target (bar the disallowed goal), what i think Liverpool need more than a new front man is aggression. a real killer instinct. i want liverpool to have the attitude that "lower tier/table" opposition arent easy games where we only need put 75% effort in, but games where we can batter the goal and run up huge tallys!

    i suppose what i am saying is i want liverpool to score more than 2-3 goals in a game (i know winning is the most important thing - but goals mean confidence), it seems a long time in my memory where we won a match with a lead of more than 2. last night was a good opportunity and we failed. i for one am hoping we tear arsenal apart. 8-2 please lads.

    Suarez had a couple of good chances, and Gerrard had a chance.

    We just need to start taking our chances. Once we score the first goal (and early), we will then start to control the game a lot easier.

    Everyone knows that we're struggling with goals and the long the game goes on without one, we will get tense, the fans get tense.

    We were hopeless at getting men into the box quickly against City (my only real criticism apart from the errors at the back). Last night we often had 2 or 3 players moving into the same space. Always going to be the case with new players and a different system. It will take time to gel them all together and hopefully players like Sahin and Allen will improve the quality of our final ball <ok>

    suarez missed another sitter.. the first chance was a complete sitter that he just took wide, the second was alos a big chance.... gerrard made his own chance that was well saved and morgan was unlucky that it was out...

    but aside from this we didn't get in behind half enough.... hendo didn't work at all.

    add to this reina threw i nyet another one.... i think its high time to be critical in the extreme here... david james threw in less than pepe is doing. that one was an EASY save but he never got his body behind it, pathetic in truth... he needs a hard look at himself.
