Leeds boss Simon Grayson watched in disbelief as his team were torn apart by free-flowing Southampton at St Mary’s.

Nigel Adkins team were in total control, underlining their vast superiority with goals from midfielders Dean Hammond and Adam Lallana, and veteran front man David Connolly.

It was a dream start to the Championship campaign for Saints after securing promotion from League One last season. They clearly have their sights firmly set on emulating the achievements of Norwich who moved from the third tier to the Premier League in successive seasons.

Adkins appreciates the enormity of the task, but there was a real buzz of anticipation as Saints ripped into a Leeds side who narrowly missed out on a place in last year’s Championship play-offs.

Nice reading. Hope we get a lot more like that before the end of the season.

So the Mirror CAN write a good article (one that's true). Better than the constant speculation about Chambo.

Whats been great is since that performance I have noticed so many papers and blogs have written good things and it's a weird feeling because we haven't had so much interest since we were last in the Championship!! Even footballers like Michael Owen and top journalists from BBC/Sky have been tweeting about the game saying how exciting it is to see a team like Southampton come out and completely dominate the game. May it keep on continuing for the coming season!!

When I read the title of this thread, I was expecting something a little better than a Mirror article. When will people learn to stop reading that crap?
