See, this is my point! Where you finish after 38 games is where you deserve to finish, quite obviously to me! Arsenal lost 8-2 to United a couple of seasons ago, and United lost 6-1 the Citeh not long after - nobody was calling for the heads of Wenger or Ferguson were they? Or is it specifically 7-0?

Bit unfair, CH isn't that one dimensional as a manager.

villa lost 8-0 last season, didn't they? lambert was given a long-term brief to get villa going and they stuck with him. he isn't exactly flying at the moment but they are going to stick with him and quite rightly.

You can't ignore 10 games simply to suit your argument, they either happened or they didn't.

Can I ask you GM, why do you persist in spelling our manager's name the way that Guru does, he can be forgiven, he is but a Binner, are you also? You really do appear to have an agenda!

Actually Dave I spell Hootun's name that way, however I do it's light-heartedly and I definitely don't have an agenda against him. Yes, I was critical of our football at times last season and at the beginning of this, however despite the results not coming the past couple of months has actually seen me warm to him and I still have fauith that he's the right man <ok>

Whilst I am very disappointed with all things NCFC this week (other than JR signing a new deal) I see no sense whatsoever in sacking the manager 10 games into the season, particularly after the board had sufficient faith in him over the Summer to open up the coffers and allow him to spend the most money our club has ever laid out to strengthen the squad.

If the board had their doubts then close season was the time to move. To replace CH now would leave "his" players uncertain of their futures and any new man coming in would want assurances that there would be significant funds to spend in January, we would have uncertainty and upheaval - neither of which are condusive to a positive string of results.

Prior to two trips to Manchester we had been playing pretty well and just not getting the results. We should not forget that we have played an awful lot of the better teams in the league - realistically we would not expect to pick up many points from teams challenging at the top of the table. We probably deserved a point against Chelsea but at 1-1 they brought on a player from the bench who cost more than our entire summer spend. Yes we spent a lot for us in the Summer but it is chicken feed compared with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Man City. Until we can have multi-million £ players on the bench then we are always going to struggle against the top teams.

For us to get a result at Man City we would have to be at or around 100% and they would need to have an off day. Unfortunatley neither of these things happened and we got (rightly) hammered.

To judge CH playing against the likes of Man City is pointless. It is how we do against the "normal" teams like West Ham where our season will be proven to be a success or not. I fear that if we have another poor game on Saturday then the board may feel compelled to act. I hope this does not happen and that CH manages to get a response from the players and we get the win we need and then sit mid-table.

The crazy thing is that if we win our next couple of matches we will be sitting pretty in the top half.

i doubt you'll find a norwich fan who thinks 'all is rosy' but equally all is not 'doom and gloom'. we're performing below the standard required so far but equally, one win would alter that. one win - just one win, two would be preferable. is it really out of the question we aren't going to win one or two of the next three games? we could be sitting in the top half by the beginning of december. we'll have to wait and see but i don't think its a 'bonkers' suggestion

edit. just seen norfolkbhoy has said something similar <ok>

I have noticed your change of stance this year and I am gladdened by it, I was probably a bit harsh with GM but nevertheless he does appear to have an agenda, bearing in mind the injuries we were always on a hiding to nothing and as for not getting the best out of our expensive new strikers, it will be good to see how they perform when totally injury free!

i should just add though, that if there is seemingly no response from the players against west ham, ie they fail to turn up again, then we do have a real problem <ok>

By hook or by crook we need a win on Saturday; a result will alleviate some of the pressure. But it also needs to be followed up with a win/draw with Newcastle and three points against Palace, because we then play Liverpool. A spineless performance against them, and without points on the board, the cries for Hughton to go will grow so loud I can't see anything saving him.

Feel for Hughton slightly as he's going to be up against it from the get go. If we concede early I worry for the crowd response could get flat/nasty

rusty has just said that the players are behind chris. i guess he is always going to say that to the media, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt

I hope you beat Wet Sham on Saturday because if there is one team that I loathe more than you it has to be those Cockney Bastards and Sam Allardyce! And anything that prolongs your Hooton nightmare is fine with me! <laugh>

Exactly sums it up. Does it need superhuman intelligence to identify what is needed above all else on Saturday? NOT "supporters" waiting to be given something to draw grudging support out of them. What is needed is wholehearted, loud support from before the start right through the game WHATEVER happens on the pitch. <ok>
