Looking at our goal difference and being reminded by the Chelsea 8 -0 hammering of Villa it's a long time since Spurs had a big league win in terms of goals. The last one was 5 - 0 victory against Newcastle back in February 2012. Confidence is a huge factor in football and scoring a hat-full is a good little pick me up. With the next games coming up against Villa, Sunderland, Reading and QPR, on paper at least, we must have chance of scoring a few against that lot. Any predictions? Reading perhaps? please log in to view this image
From those 4 games? Some Xmas cheer..... 10 points, with 10 goals for and 3 against. Still can't see a 5 or 6 goaler on the horizon just yet.....
said the same thing this morning in the Villa match thread, spurf. Not only do we need to keep winning, but we need a big win, or 3 decent win's such as 3 x 3-0. goal difference will be very important at the end of the season and we're a long way behind chelsea and arsenal.
Can't see you lot thrashing anybody at home, I reckon you could give Villa a right pasting if your on your A game though
dont believe we have it in ourselves to play to a high level for 90 minutes and thrash someone. I wonder how a manager feels when his team destroys another, must come a point when they think " enough now" or are they thinking "lets carry on the thrashing and make them suffer".
remember when wigan came to us in sept 10 on the back of 3 absolute pasteings...think they conceded 5 and 6 and 4 in the previous 3...then beat us 1 nil....i am dreading these 3 matches! baa humbug
Frankly, I'd rather we won every remaining game we have 1-0 then win half of them 4-0. Why? Because winning all of them 1-0 will bring us the title, winning half of them 4-0 means half out games could be (theoretical) points dropped.
Villa will be a hard game for us now, they will be embarrassed, humiliated and even more determined to get a result in their next game.
If we ever look on the verge of a big win I imagine AvB would take off strikers and put on two defensive midfielders to defend the lead
Looking at the scores so far today, a win is most important, never mind a big win. Everton and west brom continuing to get results and not showing any signs of slowing up. The league is very interesting to say the least!
Come on District Line. You thought 8-0 was exceptional until Spurs won 4-0 with 15 1st half corners to 1 and then realised 8-0 was nothing much. We both played pub teams!
