Well surely this should be a signal for fans to start concentrating on supporting the club instead of sniping at the manager and contributing on bringing us down...

THIS - totally agree (as per normal) RAW!!

I have been on the fence about the manager for some time but think his days may be numbered (still on the fence) but if our fans concentrated on turning up to a match and making a noise like we did in the last 5 minutes against Chelsea for a full 90 minutes then you may see different players on the field.

It must be great to manage a club where you are judged on results....you win one home game in 9 months and have the full backing of your bosses...Bruce has the best job he has ever had in his life.

I agree with MrRAW, no surprise there. We can talk all we like about why Bruce should go but he is here at least until after Sunday so lets get behind the team.

One big question is, had we beaten the mags, would everyone still feel the same about Bruce??

I (personally) don't think he's being judged on all of the games, more on that one result. Think about it - we expected very little off Liverpool and Chelsea but possibly 6 points from the other 2 games - had we gone DWDL instead of DLDL in the league I think people would be saying we've got a decent return from the opening 4 games (remember, we have only played 4 games, not 34!)

I still think we'll be fine over the season - once the team get together and gel properly. I though (personally) that Colback was out of his depth at the weekend - if we're note careful he's going to be another Henderson and the crowd will turn on him if he doesn't perform brilliantly every game - he should be brought in slowly (like Wickham) - experienced midfield this weekend I want Larsson, Cattermole, Gardner, Sessegnon (hopefully)

And also, I HOPE we play football instead of hoofing it long from the keeper every time - you can't beat Stoke by doing that

Marcus...I don't think any of the derby games has helped his cause, but the statistics suggest his problems are a lot deeper than a few games against the Mags. we have once at home since the turn of the year....the fact Newcastle featured in two of those games are incidental to me.
As has been mentioned here, as long as he is manager here, I will support the team as I have done since the late 60's...but we all know its only a matter of time with this guy..his record is appalling and he will relegate our club.

Its all well and good backing the club etc, but that doesn't necessarily mean the manager has to be part of this. You wouldn't get on a boat with a hole in the middle of it.

I would if it was a red and white boat - that's the problem with being a fan(atic)

It's the manner were playing in that gets to me, they don't look motivated.

So rather than try to affect change, us as fans should just blindly follow whats going on regardless of which direction this takes.

Back the friggin team, back the manager when at the stadium.

the SoL was deathly silent during the chelsea game (except last 5 minutes). Doesnt matter if you agree with the manager or not, the team still needs backing.

For **** sake, the Mags still manage to make a noise even with their club being turned inside out by Agent Mike - we should be able to do the same even if Bruce has had a bad run at home.

We can discuss all you want about if Bruce is the right man or not, but as we will have him at the helm until Jan at least, lets get on with it.

the only thing we are affecting is our image as fans. ones unwilling to back the team when times get tough.

Would you rather accept always being second rate? Or would you be willing to do something about it?

If a bit of success meant sacrifing our 'image' who amongst us would care?

If the club is showing any lack of ambition, I'm afraid our 'image' shows even less as we go along with it.

All people are saying is for 90 minutes fans should forget about the clubs internal politics and get behind the team. Then at least we can say that we give it our all. I hear loads moaning about the players not looking motivated, but the same ones are probably putting zero effort in backing them.

When a club announces to the press that a manager's job is safe, he usually has about five days to go. Ignore it. The bookie's have him at 7 - 1 to go and shortening - and they can't afford to get it wrong.

There you go again RAW, you just can’t stop yourself can you? Having a go at Sunderland fans who are just sick of seeing their team beaten at home (8 times in the last 9 games) and are voicing it on message boards. All I have seen for the last 9 months are good fans turning up (averaging 40,000) to see us get shafted by some very ordinary teams. Do you think what we have been watching is entertaining or even effective? How long should we just keep cheering blindly for a losing team and manager? Until we are relegated I presume in your world?

Why don’t you stop having a go at loyal fans, which are turning up week after week to support the team and direct your misplaced grievances towards the people responsible for the utter garbage we are being fed every week?

The players and the manager. Especially the manager.

Internal politics have an equal, if not greater impact on the team than fans can have. People have given their all time and time again and many people are absolutely fed up of this not making an iota of difference. Plus people have the right to give their opinions whether that be cheering the team on or venting their anger. I agree it has a negative impact during a game, but thats only 90mins and 3 points. Would it not be better to make a fuss and want something better for the long term rather than the short?
