I have been predicting for the whole season from my pre season stats that we would achieve 83 points. Now despite my reservations with our fantastic away form and that we might actually go and smash that figure, I fear not as a check against the recent form tables demonstrates that it is certainly a realistic expectation and even the bookies are now coming in with that number of final points. Although I was never sure if it would be enough to gain us promotion but it has proven with inconsistent performances of other league two sides that promotion is more than likely with that total. Now my interests turn to the final game of the season away at Burton a decision that will have to be made soon by many a travelling fan. On current form by both sides and IF that form continues then the Burton v Gills game will be the decider for the title. The good news the stats does show across all the teams currently in the autos and playoffs is that we only need another 5/6 points to be assured of promotion. So two wins from our next three games. Yes, I know ALL those teams can achieve more than 80 points but they all need to be realistic. The confidence is so high, I can feel a thread coming on from those that remember my old BBC606 days, titled...'MA is God' or maybe more aptly named 'MAdGod' Party time at Easter, with warm ups commencing at a packed house against Accrington
I think that we should achieve 83 points as I think we may now win 3 and draw 2. I got the last 2 games completely wrong but this what I am expecting we may do now. Gillingham Vs Accrington 3-0 75 Points Fleetwood Vs Gillingham 1-1 76 Points Gillingham Vs Rotherham 1-1 77 Points (I do want a win but a draw is acceptable but I will be over the moon if we do win that day) Gillingham Vs Torquay 3-1 80 Points Cheltenham Vs Gillingham 2-1 80 Points Gillingham Vs Wimbledon 2-0 83 Points Burton Vs Gillingham 2-0 83 Points I did predict last week 89 points but that was with us winning the last 2 games which did not happen. I had been between 83-87 points before that but I do think it will be probably be 83 points now but it all depends on what form we will be on now as we could hit 85 as I think we do have it in us to turn that draw against Rotherham into a win.
I think 83 will Defo be enough for the title itself, form team burton would have to win 6 or their 7 games to beat that. and vale would need 5 wins and a draw and just 1 loss to beat us on goal difference. Wouldn't be supprised if 80 or 81 was enough for the title itself.
Typical that we had to play the form sides chasing automatics and playoffs or the teams fighting for their lives for the last 7 games isn't it
actually think that might help. with every game being hard fought, it will keep us sharp throughout the run in. I reckon
I think we will do better than expected against the top teams. We should be fairly sure of promotion and they will be under pressure leaving us more chances to score. Going to really enjoy this run in.
I've been saying for ages that we will get 90 points. That now looks hugely optimistic. I also said on numerous occasions that we will be promoted on Easter Monday, so that looks like it will be out the window. I'm really worried that we keep conceding first, and then we equallise. That can't go on ,because sooner or later we won't equalise then panic will set in, confidence will go,and we'll fall into the play offs. This Saturday looks really dodgy and as Accrington have got a proven score in Jeffers, our demise could start this weekend.

A couple of weeks ago I pointed out that no club in the past 17 seasons has got 85 points and failed to be promoted, and that in 10 of those 85 would have won the championship. As the competition is fairly tight this season I reckon that 85 should be more than enough to get the championship. Just for the record, in those 17 seasons, the least that would have been required to win the championship (i.e. 1 point more than second place) was 80. As to how many we'll get ...
I'd happily get promoted with the number of points we've got! Pretty naff end to the season but the end goal, excuse the pun, is all that matters!
I think you will win your next 3 games, possibly 4,at the very least you should get 10 points from your next 12 on offer Good Luck hope you do it....
It doesn't matter who we are playing. We have to take each game as they come. It showed against Morecambe & Rochdale that the opposition will remain professional - even when they have little at stake. It may actually work in our favour to play sides who can't afford to lose - whilst they may be difficult to break down, they will be nervous and possibly more prone to mistakes. We need to replicate the tempo & control we had against Plymouth, as we too look nervous when concentrating on defending.
Thanks mighty, it was a brilliant feeling at Priestfield today, the Rainham End party had actually begun and it was a long way from when we look back to a once November day together against Accrington, when we was better served by the influence of alcohol.
Jeez I forgot about them and come to think of it, after all my complaining maybe I like this season's red shirts after all
You prompted me just to have a look at the table. Cannot believe it any one from that bottom half of the table could go down!
