Guess the trial run wasn't a success for only 5 subs...

Great news- hopefully means we might see some of the more talented youngsters get a chance, and possibly take it!

Its a shame really, would have been better for the likes of Cousins, Mambo etc to be involved in League One. The Championship is a tough league for untried youngsters, though of course, chucking them on for the last 10 minutes isn't too risky.

Great news that 7 subs have returned, but shouldn't have got rid in the first place really.

I thought it was ridiculous. Specially when so much talk was on the development of youth. Glad its gone.

Am I right in remembering it was actually the clubs that voted for it last season? Some smaller clubs said it was unfair as they couldn't afford enough players to make a 7 man bench?

    Stupid rule. Hated it.

Its a ridiculous excuse as clubs are permitted to name as little subs as they wish (and even if they couldn't do so, they could still stick some youth players on the bench and just not use them).

A better rule to introduce would be to have 5 subs plus (an optional) 2 additional under 21's on bench
