Just to get your attention. I actually used to get the 5-24am for instance , train out of Fratton for Newcastle and whilst I mixed with and knew some of the crew, I was not part of them, although I 'stayed' at Chelsea and Millwall in the 70's on all occasions , despite the then vogue throwing of hammers and 'stars'.

I prefer memories of the biggest burger I ever had at Huddersfield's old stadium, playing the local Rochdale lads at 6 a side on the bowling green at the back of the pub before the match with our jumpers down. Going to Carlisle, travelling 20 hours by beaten up old Renault to stay for about 2 1/2 hours for a drink and the match, lose 2-0 and return home in the early hours. Meeting the late Mike Neesom on the M5/1 was always a laugh. Travelling to Liverpool on a Tuesday night in the back of a removal van with 25 other Pompey supporters on bed mattresses amongst a gathering of 15,0000 whilst in the 4 th division to play Liverpool in the Cup and lose despite the best efforts of Derek Showers and that wretched Liverpool legend Kenny Dalgleish. Fond memories from the past , there are of course many more, although also many recent memories such as our FA cup appearancesand PL and Europa league matches such as against AC Milan, what are yours?
