Well guys after all the ups and downs 5th place for me, Champions league quarta finalists wasnt a bad piece of work. And if a couple of results had gone in our favour, Chelsea and West Brom spring to mind, we might have still got 4th. I'll settle for that. We need a great striker in my opinion, and a decent keeper. Gomes I am afraid is in that area where we are never quite sure whats next? And of course we need to keep our best players. I am sure Daniel Levys nerve is gonna get tested over the coming months but nerves he must keep.

Agree with all of that. It's still been a fairly decent season, so I don't get why everyone wants Harry's head as we failed? We need another striker, and to use Pavlyuchenko more. He showed today what he can do with a bit of game time, he's by far our best striker. Also new GK, Ben Foster? or Shay Given? or really ambitious, Igor Akinfeev?

All in all I think it's been a good season.

Our strikers have been our downfall overally - we lost less games than Cit£h, but drew far too many games and that lack of ability to kill off teams has cost us overall.

A 20+ striker would have seen us 3rd IMO. So not too disheartened. But A top quality CB, Striker & GK would be all we need to take it to the next level.

    I totally agree. It's no coincidence that Spurs' goal diff was only +9 compared to Arsenal's 29, Man City's 27, Chelsea's 36 and Man United's 41.

Reports today suggest 'Arry wants to sign Friedel, another over the hill keeper in the mould of Cudicini who has seen his best days and will surley not keep Gomes out of the side, just be back up.

Shay Given has to be the one we get, IF City will sell to us?.....

Wouldn't want Friedel at all, he's far too old. We need to start building for the future, not hanging onto the here and now. Given would be alright, but City won't sell to a rival will they? Thats why, hop off to Russia, and take Akinfeev. He's world class, but playing in such a poor league, he won't command such a large transfer fee

There are people calling for Harry's head, but not because we had a bad season. The reasons seem to be mainly to do with his disrespectful attitude to the Club and the fans. Many feel that Harry is not a Tottenham man, worse, he's a West Ham man first and foremost.

If he goes, we need to replace him with someone that has similar man management skills, because i think that is a large part of why he has been successful here

I think his man 'management skills' are the big attraction for Chelski. His tactical weaknesses can be balanced by Hiddink (sp) when he arrives later in the year.

Spurs seem to have a happy dressing room, so I would say you need a tactician more than a man manager.

5th next season will be a real achievement.

Liverpool will be right up there next season and City are only going to get better.

Unless they spend I think the gooners will struggle for top 4.

    Hi Guys,

Agree with Tiggers, 5th is pretty good considering the CL & how poorly our strikers have performed most of the season. As posted previously on 606 I think we just need to learn how clubs like Arsenal have managed to adapt to the vagaries of European nights versus PL games. If we can sort that out I think we will improve on this season.
It is obvious that we are going to be linked with every player going from now until the end of August, our priorities still lie with a top class striker, another good keeper (Given would do me) plus maybe another C/B. I think that Walker has proved himself at Villa & although still a bit short on experience I would love to see him given a chance by HR.

On the note of 606, I think I might have been the last (or if not, one of the last) posters on there this morning. Had only just posted my comments on its closing, came back to th computer 5 minutes later & no one could access..........................606 is dead, long live not606

I kind of agree. I reckon Manure & Chelski are favourites for 1st & second with Arsenal, Citeh & Liverpool fighting for 3 & 4.

Spurs will struggle to finish top half I think. I am honestly not meaning to wum, but with the extra European games, potentially no Bale, Moderate (VDV?) and a new manager, it will be very tough going for you next year.

    Top half?
If you're going to WUM, then at least do it realistically.

Unless Liverpool spend big they are still favourites for 6th Spurs can't possibly be as poor again next year against the bottom 6 clubs a couple of good strikers and who knows

An almost great season - Quarter FInals of Champions League in our first campaign - AND still got 5th - remember when Everton got into the CL their league season was terrible thye went from 4th to 17th the next season. With a little more consistency against the bottom teams we would have been in the top 4
