Hello greetings from the North, don't usually visit your board but you seem a decent bunch, so if I may I lob this one in your general direction. Given that you have 42 points do you think you can get to 48 points, the figure given is what I think will keep you up. My hapless lot PNE have 47 and the general opinion in this part of the world is that we won't get another point this season. Quite a lot in fact many of us think that the side and football Westley puts up is clueless and will gety us relegated. You have 3 winnable games in my opinion and have not lost for 7 games you've hit form at the right time, we've had 4 wins since we played you at Adams Park. Keep the faith you've every chance
to get to 48 we would need 6 points. i suspect we will beat 2 of oldham, chesterfield and notts county and get a draw against the other one. this will leave us on 49 points which could leave us either way. Are PNE really that bad they wont get another point?!?!?!?!
We have flattered to deceive all season the 7 wins on the trot hid the fact that we were poop at the back, kept scoring more than the opposition, then all 3 main forwards were injured, stop scoring and winning and since then it's been down hill. Tango man Brown lost the plot got potted, caretakers did ok for a while then Westley came in and upset the squad. His tactics type of football are dire, last Saturday we possibly reached rock bottom with leakgate for me playing a free transfer centre half from Aldershot up front at Hillsborough was laughable. It's been dire and could get worse
sums up westly nicely, if you give him time he will work but it'll be ugly to watch and you'll wish someone else is in charge...
MacLad - Personal view is that 50 points should be enough to stay up - and you will do it. The bottom three look to be dead in the water - leaving the final relegation place between; Bury, Walsall, Orient and ourselves, plus Orient and Bury are in freefall. For us the plus side is our current form is better than the others in this group, however two of our final games are away at Charlton and Sheff Wed - so we do need to get the maximum from our other three remaining games. I think it will be very close - going to the final round of games and possibly decided on goal difference.
westly is a manager most fans wouldnt want at their club to be honest mate, sorry to hear that you have to watch that dross week in week out.
Did all right, they play decent football but lacked a cutting edge their fans think we are doing with you which would surprise me but then again what does anybody from Milton Keynes know about football
Charlton fan here in peace. I reckon the last relegation place is between you and Orient, but it's going to take something special now. You'll beat Oldham, but I can't see you taking more than a point from the other 3 games, which are all against top 6 games, unless you can catch one of them on an off day, e.g. if Wednesday were out of automatic contention by the last game and were saving themselves for the playoffs? That would give you 46 or 48 with a win. Walsall looked very good against us, they'll get at least another win and pull clear (49+ points). Orient are on the slide, but end with a home game against Rochdale...if they lose all their remaining games they'll have 46, but if they beat Rochdale they'll go to 49. Oldham are really struggling, but should pick up a point by the end of the season to go to 49. I don't think Wycombe will reach 49 points...
I agree. They had to pick up 3 points against Chesterfield and they would have been in with a shout. Based on that performance they don't deserve to stay up.
If Charlton hadn't taken Hayes back from his loan i firmly believe we would stay up.As he hasn't made the squad for the last few games what was the point? Thanks Powell you well and truly shafted us!!
Yann Kermorgant (who's pushed Hayes out of the Charlton team) went ill before we played Huddersfield, so he was recalled for that game, but unfortunately has found himself since then out in the cold, not helped by the 5 subs rule, as N'Guessan a striker/winger we've got on loan from Millwall has scored crucial goals for us. It's a shame we weren't able to recall him for 1 game and then send him back to you...
completly agree, we would have stayed up if we still had hayes. the team has struggled without him and waddock doesnt have the nerve to bring in mcclure
