There were quite a few chances that if we had played people through we might have gotten the win.. the Saha chance at the death was a good example. Campbell was running through, he was in front of his defender, and if Saha had played a through ball, he could have gotten on the end of it. Mig's distribution is ****. Did he find our players once when he hoofed it upfield? McLean went backwards today, and Sess wasn't himself.
I thought Sess was wasteful and lazy, not overly impressed and hope it's just a bad day at the office.
He was better 2nd half. Nothing first half may as well have played 10 men first half, showing no linking up with Fletcher, wondering if we would be better off playing Saha?
Mig IMO is the second best keeper at the club. Shot stopping is good but westwoods is just as good whilst migs distribution and positioning for crosses is poor and westwoods is much better. Westwood is also much more decisive when the ball comes into the box. Personally I'd rather have Westwood in goal but I'm not the boss
Another game like that and it will be a full weeks worth of bad days at the office. He hasn't impressed me at all this season and a place on the bench beckons imo. I think he believes he has us over a barrel with the homesick thing and demands a place. He clearly isn't fit and clearly isn't interested at the minute and he needs a kick up the arse, just as any other player would playing badly and he was the luckiest man on the pitch along with McClean to stay on the pitch.
I think Mcclean has been worked out, they just show him inside all the time. He is good with his head down and running. His footballing nous isn't great. Still we see very little support for him. No overlapping full back etc. Still we are a pretty solid defensive unit.
If Fletcher scores every chance he gets, would it not be a good idea to set up a few more chances for him? Sounds simple to me but hey what the f**k do I know!
