Is that the correct time to terminate a baby? This week in the USA a baby was finally allowed to go home (for a few days), after being born at 24 weeks, weighing 9 1/2 ounces. Even the doctor stated, that if she would have been born 1 week earlier, then we would not have bothered to save her. So a girl survives who could have been aborted. Should we just let nature happen & forget about abortion? Or should we trust the Doctors?
Huth -firstly, well done for being a good sport with much piss taking you've endured -(I am sure you're not a *****phile ) -next, I am disappointed that you've attracted so few sensible replies to a serious question - however you did not give your take on the matter ! For what its worth I believe that too many abortions are a life style choice, rather than a medical decision. If a foetus has developed to the stage that quite clearly is a tiny human life, I personally do not think anyone has the right to kill it. please log in to view this image
yeah but at what point does it stop being "just a foetus" and become a "proper" person with rights? thats where it becomes difficult. as a biologist i believe this point comes where if the baby was to be born it could survive with medical help, even if it is just a 1% chance. with technology getting better and better and the chance of babies surviving outside the womb at an earlier stage, i think the limit for abortions should be put down to 22 or 20 weeks. maybe we should concentrate on educating more people about sex rather than try and deal with the consequences a few months later.
Most babies born at 24 weeks die at 23 weeks all will die, as there bodies are not developed enough. Abortions in the UK are 20 weeks, except on very limited cases (where the mother or baby will die)
The law in the UK makes it legal to have an abortion during the first 24 weeks of pregnancy so long as certain criteria are met so after 20 weeks its not easy to get one.
yeah but all you have to do is say your mental wellbeing will be so that its not suitable for you to continue with the pregnancy and you get an abortion, it isnt a difficult thing.
only 4% of the british public have the same viewpoint. everybody else thinks its generally acceptable.
A foetus is not a baby until it is squeezed out. even then it doesn't get a personality for a good few months. Im all for abortions, i also recommend euthanasia and selective murders to reduce the global population.
