Yeah ....... thanks to the idiot behind Bonham's goal ! When we were still 0-1 down, the ball went off for a Gills goal kick. The young Blackpool fan, behind the goal, thought it was funny to return the ball by kicking it as far infield as he could. I expect that it took about 10 seconds to get the ball back to Bonham............. the extra time that the referee added on at the end of the game.............. I made it that we scored the winner with less than 10 seconds before the final whistle.Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha In truth, the game was a poor spectacle. Both teams were not good at defending --- and, as for attempts on goal --- how on Earth did Blackpool manage to miss open goals ?...... oh well, I suppose you'll say that we have deserved to win some of the drawn games (( a-la- Burton )), and that it's all about the result.
I passed up the opportunity to sit / stand for 2 hours in 30mph wind and a chill-factor adjusted temperature of -7 last night (not to mention potentially awkward road conditions) - as did quite a significant number of the 'usual' Gills away supporters if the Sky highlights are anything to go by. Exactly how much the weather could be blamed for the poor finishing is open to speculation, but trust me, it was not a pleasant night for being outside, and, temperatures aside, gusty and generally high wind (of the climatic variety) doesn't make for great football. But hey-ho, I'll take the 3 points that, as alwaysright says, we really should have had on Saturday.
