Jol said he wanted us to have 20 points by Christmas. I'm not sure we'll actually have 20 points by the end of February given we play Man Utd & Liverpool this month and the only other game we have is away to West Brom. Our next game after that is on 1st March against Chelsea. If we take nothing from these games (as seems likely) or at best take 3 points from West Brom, then we will have 22 points by 8th March. Looking at it sensibly, that doesn't really leave us enough time to get out of the relegation places. I'd love a run to materialise, but realistically how likely is it that we will win 8 out of the 10 remaining games from 8th March until the end of the season seeing as Man City, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle make up 4 of the games and we have only managed to win 6 games all season. It's not impossible but it is unlikely. Unfortunately I think this time, we really have had it.
West Brom (A), Cardiff (A), Newcastle (H), Aston Villa (A), Norwich (H), Hull (H), Stoke (A), Palace (H). These are our 'winnable' games. We need to win 7, could maybe get away with 6. Any points from the other games is a major bonus.
Although at the moment I can't see us doing that I hope you are right! Will be a huge morale boost if we nick a point from one of the big ones...
Liverpool is not impossible. We've done it before and we could do it again. Craven Cottage isn't their favourite ground and we could have a slim chance with this one.
Meaning of hope: a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. I really want Fulham to beat Liverpool, show some fight, battle for every ball, score some goals and play with some width.
