I've now seen the email in which OSC members were asked to email in with their opinion on the name change and I'm not surprised that so many members missed it.

It's a very very long email, mainly about discounted trains to the London games, you have to get through 1,200 words before you reach a single line asking people to email in their opinion on the name change.

I'd go as far, as to say that the question was buried in an email.

    Conspiracy theory eh?

What happens to the protest if a major incident happens between say 18.30 and 19.30 of the game?

Either they buried it, or they're completely incompetent, it couldn't have been handled any worse.

Aston Villa Life - press release...

Aston Villa Life Stand With Hull City Fans Opposed To Team Name Changes

After being contacted by an organisation petitioning against the change of name of the team we play on Saturday, Hull City AFC, we proudly publish a press release stating their agenda, and stand alongside their fans.

Like Hull City, Aston Villa have a proud tradition identified with the name of our club – a name we, like Hull City supporters, have come to love over the course of our existence. Would we be happy if Randy Lerner wanted to change us into the Aston Lions? I doubt it, and that is why we support the cause of keeping Hull City’s traditional, and well recognised name.

Together we’ll stand, else divided we’ll fall.

CITY TILL WE DIE ON TV AND RADIO TONIGHT

Both local and national media are starting to sit up and take notice of the No To Hull Tigers campaign.

Tonight's edition of Calendar will include a short clip with a spokesperson for City Till We Die (don't expect an epic interview!) We've also been invited to take part in Sportstalk on Radio Humberside.

You can watch Calendar from 6.00pm on ITV. Please note: the Hull City segment will only air in the East of the region, so if you live in West Yorkshire you won't see it.

Sportstalk is on Radio Humberside from 6.00pm. We encourage you to join the debate - whatever your views. Proper debate on this issue is what we are calling for, not apathy and silence. Text 81333 and start your message with RH; e-mail [email protected]; or call 01482 225959 or 01472 340959.

It's gonna be a busy afternoon at the KC as we get to the 19 minute mark of the game.

    City fans will start singing
Villa fans will respond as they think we're cheering Stilian Petrov
Japanese visitors will join in celebrating their victory over Russia in 1904
Russians will kick-off thinking we're insulting their national pride

and to cap it all the Paul Hardcastle Fan Club is expected to be in attendance.......

Chills sorry to rain on your parade but the Villa fans no longer honour the 19 minute mark. I just hope that the message has been well and truly put out to them. I know popular forums have been informed but perhaps we need to give them some leaflets.

I think the message will have got through to most of them, many Villa boards have been posting and tweeting about us today, mainly thanks to Obi.

Very well handled Obi, if I may say so.

Lou Roll, fair enough you're not bothered, but surely singing "City Til You Die" as a City song is the norm anyway.

If you can blank out the fact the club is changing it's name, surely you can believe the song hasn't got any affinity to this campaign, but we're singing a normal chant.

If you're going to claim "oblivious support" as part of this you should have just gone for 90 minutes silence and claimed everyone in the ground was supporting it. :p

I do not support the campaign so to sing a song at a specific moment designed to let people show their support for the campaign would seem a bit daft.
The union jack is a great flag but it was used as a symbol of a far right political group at one stage therefore many stopped wavig union jacks during that period.
Perhaps the use of a chant commonly sang is a cunning strategy to make the world think more people support the campaign than actually do.
Reading OLM s assessment of the above situation it does seem that every indication that people do not support his campaign is total rubbish and we must assume everything else means the MAJORITY are for it.This is a strategy that has been employed many times in history and the outcomes of people falling for it have sometimes been very bad indeed.
