So, 10 games left, our season starts now. Although our form in terms of results is desperate, I'm not certain that the level of performance has been too bad in the main. Realistically I'd say Bournemouth are probably safe now, and Villa are gone. So it's 2 from 4. Clever money is probably on those two being us and Sunderland. If we write off the away games against Arsenal and Everton, and the home games against Man City and Man United, that leaves us with six games to get the points we will need. Away against Swansea, Palace and West Brom. None in terrific form, only Swansea with anything to play for. Could we have realistic hopes of 4 points there? Home against Newcastle, Sunderland and Watford. Again, none in great form but obviously only Watford have nothing to play for. You'd have to say we need to win all three of them for 9 points. That would take us to 37 points. Enough? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
Write off the Man Utd home game? No way - we have a chance there and what a double that would be this season
As well as the Manure game, Everton will likely have little left to play for and Man City could take their eye off the ball with CL to be played on the Tuesday following our game. Citeh seems implausable but you gotta live in hope. Bah!
We cannot afford to write off any games. If we are going to stay up I think we are going to have to come up with a few results like Sunderland did the last time we were relegated. Wouldn't it be nice to get a few chunks of luck on the way to help us for once!
I had targeted 30 points at the end of March. Two wins in our next three and we'll miraculously be on track.
Norwich are my Second team Last two losses , could easily have been wins , and look who they were against !!!
As long as the team plays like it did last night AND we get fair justice from the match officials (UNLIKELY I know), then we might just do it!!!! I feel we might get some points against Palace as well.
I thought City were poor under Worthington but I can't see that points tally being beaten by this squad. Didn't City win the last four homes in 2005? Not a chance this season.
With Swansea winning at Arsenal, the gap is getting bigger too. Looks like two from three with Villa. Newcastle, Sunderland and us. I can't see us beating those two at home. Draws won't be good enough.
At least they are home matches. Just about the only thing to clutch on to. Newcastle losing, hopefully they will in their other match in hand against Man City.
Evening lads, we rested no less than 6 players tonight at the Gunners, with a big eye on the game this Saturday...........
