I can't be bothered to search the records - but I doubt if there's been too many lower attendances for a Midlands derby. 1,637 was the crowd for last night's game between Coventry v Walsall..... I appreciate that the game was at Northampton's ground - but surely, in the long run, that cannot be any good for the future of Coventry. They would have to pay rent to their landlords as well as all the other expenses - let alone pay the players. As the allocation of money in football continues to be so disproportionate, I can see the return of clubs having to go part time.
As we all know its a clear protest by the Coventry supporters. I'm sure when they come to Priestfield next Tuesday they will pack our away end. They have my support and it will take the echoes of time to get the message across to the powers that be in this dispute. To win battles was never fought without hardship. I just hope the supporters gain their goal in the end and its not at the final cost of losing their club. But hey if you go into a dispute with fear then you will forever always be a loser.
