Brilliant result and a good atmosphere at HP, loved Sparksey's comment that the Excretia fans looked like they were auditioning for Madam Tussaud's wax works dummys lol

It's good to see Argyle on a winning run, Sheridan apparently the saviour that was needed. By all accounts Argyle now playing some good football (at last) keeping it on the ground and passing it around. Any win at home was until recently just the stuff of dreams but all the sweeter today for stuffing them up the road and was it a sell-out? If not damned near and more money in the coffers for Argyle.

Any news on the stadium today?

I'm not even going to go down the first half was this or that and the second half was.......route. I think it suffices to say that the whole of the Argyle side were well and truely up for the match today. Hourihane, who I have criticised many times before was massive. By far and away the best I've ever seen him. The armband clearly means something to him and it is fair to say he has responded in the best possible way. On the other hand, Exeter are a pretty reasonable side but the passion, or the same passion just wasn't there. They can clearly play but our players put themselves about the park as if lives depended on it and they did this pretty much for the whole 90 minutes. Sheridan and lads I was impressed.

My comment on the way out of the ground was that it mattered less who the opposition were and more that the 3 points we got were immense. I had doubts if I'm honest before kick off and it hung around me for the whole of the match also if I'm honest. Branston is much better than Purse in my view and there is one good reason for saying so. The Ref had a shocker today. He gave us virtually nothing all afternoon and didn't seem to want to rock the boat at all but gave Exeter many decisions. The crowd bayed their frustrations but he stuck to that the whole match. O'Flynn went in on Branston about half an hour late and high when he came on. It should have been a card, possibly even Red in my book. The Ref spoke to him and then gave a throw in. If that had been Purse he would have sought him out and done him sometime after. Branston just carried on and let it go. Branston had a superb game throughout.

Just one comment about the Police presence today and their dealings. Dogs, horses and loads of them in combat gear for a match where nothing happened that I was aware of. An excuse for a whole load of overtime. They stopped people using the steps outside the ground to go down to the Barn Park lane and made everyone walk all of the way around only to be allowed to then use the lane anyway. The object was to keep the Exeter fans in for about 15 minutes to let the Argyle fans clear out of the way. By closing these steps they actually made it longer for people to leave the park. Total farce as usual from the boys in blue. Total waste of money.

Still rate this as more than 3 points for us, from what I heard the team lifted it a level against the Excretia so perhaps we have a few who know what that shirt means, been a long while since. As for Houri glad you opinion backed up my boys Sens, he said he was a different class today and possibly a Wotton in the making, coming from someone who rated Wotts, Dad and Father Christmas in that order when he was 7 years old that is credit indeed.
Seems to have been a while since we out wanted a team but it looks promising, still think the Banton factor is a major difference but am happy we found it.
As for the Boys in Blue, there may have been no trouble but perhaps that is to their credit? Cut my teeth with Argyle in the 80s so no Saint myself but prefer the games now and unfortunately there are still a few blasts from the past around or young guns who have failed to evolve (both sides), if it went off without incident then that is a bonus.

To be fair mexijan every team needs a goal scorer and some have found one. It is just that we have found ours for now which clearly makes the difference. Banton is such a lazy sod a lot of the time. He doesn't like a challenge or running about after somebody but he can find the net and that is what you want him for. The work donkey is Reid up front. He gets the stick and Banton the plaudits. As my son is fond of pointing out, who would be the one you would always include? The work horse or the one who gets the points. I know he's right.

Chatting with a few mates online after we repelled the Northern invasion and they all thought Reid was excellent against City MoM or close at least/
