    F1 2016 Season: Lineup's - Rumours - News

So I'd take this with a grain of salt the size of Nigel Mansell, but apparently Alonso has issued Mclaren with an ultimatum about his conditions for staying on next year. The key points:

Button has confirmed that he will be racing for Mclaren next year. Happy for him, disappointed for Vandoorne.

I definitely feel like Baku and Montreal are meant to be the other way around... either that or there are doubts about that race we haven't heard about yet.

F1 facing EU investigation over prize money rules

Ecclestone responds... kind of Standard stuff, doesn't acknowledge the scandal so as not to cause bad PR, tacitly puts the blame on the teams for accepting the only terms they were offered.

Probably stick him in one of their GT cars. He's not really set the world on fire in GP2 this season, which is a shame.

    F1 2016 Season: Lineup's - Rumours - News

The more I think about Grosjean to Haas, the more it makes sense to me - Renault are going to struggle hard next year I feel, this gives Romain a chance to schmooze Ferrari and the other team bosses so that he might get a proper competitive drive before he retires. Plus, he's an obvious talent...

F1 facing EU investigation over prize money rules

Something that's been a long time coming: Sauber and Force India have lodged an official complaint with the EU over how the way F1 is run. More here: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-facing-eu-investigation-after-sauber-force-india-complaint/ I'm glad to see something going through a...

    F1 2016 Season: Lineup's - Rumours - News

On a possibly related note, Autosport reckon Button is now likely to stay in F1 rather than retire since Dennis has admitted he wanted to tell Button sooner about Mclaren's intent to take up the option. The only way Alonso's leaving is if he's leaving F1 entirely, and that I don't see - yet. I...

    Japanese Grand Prix Awards!

I think I was asleep at that point. In fairness it's slightly hard to pick on him, there wasn't really anyone who did anything egregiously terrible this race.

Well you say that but then look at Renault, they practically went backwards over the winter.

Rossi): Verstappen, despite his stupid parking Best Team: Lotus bouncing back after Singapore Worst Team: McHonda Best Overtake: Verstappen on his teammate Most Surprising Result: Maldonado finishing in the...

    F1 2016 Season: Lineup's - Rumours - News

Every single thing we've heard up until today has suggested Alonso is very positive about McHonda - some would say too much so. I can't see anything changing in the last six races, as much as it would shake up the drivers' market. Just put today down to an uncharacteristic outburst.

Grand Prix thread 2015 Japanese Grand Prix Chat and Predictions

It would be somewhat amusing if next season is really close and then the new aero rules **** everything up again. Well, not amusing but you get what I mean This is true... does remind you that one of Alonso's biggest struggles has been that he consistently picks the wrong teams.

Grand Prix thread 2015 Japanese Grand Prix Chat and Predictions

Watched the race live - couldn't be arsed to open my laptop and practically fell back asleep by the end. A shame Nasr retired - would have been only the fourth time in history we had 100% classification, plus he'd been doing well. Deserved win for Hamilton, good fightback from Rosberg...

    F1 2016 Season: Lineup's - Rumours - News

I'm pretty sure they'll go with Gutierrez for both the Ferrari link and marketing reasons (Mexican driver plays well with a US team, unless you're Donald Trump) but like you I don't believe it really is Mclaren or nothing. My current theory is that Renault will drop Maldonado (despite assertions...
