Brought up on football and attended my first PNE game in 1946. I have been supporting them ever since and I am proud to be a Prestonian.
I consider myself very fortunate to have watched PNE during the football golden era, and privileged to have followed the progress of Sir Tom Finney during his PNE and England career.
PNE's fortunes have fluctuated a lot following Sir Tom's retirement but PNE have never attained the same level as that shown during his career. I live in hope as we all do that one day my club will play again at the highest level. Sad to say but although that may happen there will never be a player on PNE's books to compare with theflyingplumber.
