What is wrong with Arsenal's mentality ?

It's pretty simply IMO - there are no huge personalities in the arsenal set up at the moment. vieira, Henry, Bergkamp etc just weren't replaced. Exactly the same thing would have happened at Man Utd when Keane and Van Nistelrooy etc left were it not for the size of Ferguson's personality. I...

    St. Totteringhams Day

Agreed - if anything its a sign of a strong league that anybody can beat anybody. Every team that ever wins the league is 'lucky' in one way or another. Its always deserved though.

    St. Totteringhams Day

Fans - obviously. Players - end of a title challenge, mentallt drained, half an eye on the carribean? Meh Who had a better season? The team who ran leicester until a few weeks ago or the team who bottled it two months ago? Feel free to disagree. I know many do. Just my opinion. In my opinion...

    St. Totteringhams Day

Disagree. Opinions ey. My point is - form after the maths is dealt with is irrelevant. Precisely because results like newcastle 5-1 spurs happen when nobody cares about results anymore. Had sunderland managed to finish 16th, i would still consider them to be the 4th worst team in the league...

    St. Totteringhams Day

I dont have stats in front of me - but i imagine they would show that top teams drop a disproportionate number of points once the title is sewn up. The edge has gone and tools get downed and players lose it a bit. This is human nature. I still think at least at the top, the team that provides...

    St. Totteringhams Day

All bets are off when the season ends competitively. I never say a team has won the league by '10 poi nts' for example. I say they won it by '4 weeks' - as points become largely irrelavent as soon as the maths has taken care of it. By similar logic - in my view spurs had the better season...

Funniest football chant of the season... ?

'we are staying up...' leicester fans at whatever insanely early part of the year they hit 40 points. The simple ones are the best!

Lower league play offs method is a JOKE!!

Yep, having now researched the playoffs for this season (!) I agree - this year is exhibit 'a' in the case against playoffs. Brighton go into the playoffs after a mentally draining, brutal goal difference defeat to second place and lose comfortably in the first leg to a team who finished 15...

Lower league play offs method is a JOKE!!

Course they like it at the start of the season - they will either be a team aspiring to finish top anyway, or they are looking at the chances of being 1 of 6 rather than the chances of being 1 of 3. If you are 'in theory' the 9th best team in the league, then at the start of the season you are...

Lower league play offs method is a JOKE!!

Agree with your point but I would go further. Just bin them altogether. We have the FA Cup and League Cup to keep us busy as far as entertaining, dramatic cup ties go. The entire premise of a league is that consistency from August to May places you in your deserved place in the football league...

    Congratulations Leicester.

Half correct. The most incredible sporting achievement ever. Bar none. There is no precident for this - any team can win a cup with the right draw and/or a few big teams having off days, but to win the richest league in the world against teams who's first teams cost as much as your stadium, in...

    The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

Heh cheers - not a Leicester fan by the way, just pleased to see an outsider win it!

    The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

Gobbing off? Who has been gobbing off? Humiliations? Nothing like making a negative out of a positive.... Those saying Leicester wouldn't win the league (most leicester fans were!) were doing so with the best of intentions - hardly anybody thought they were going to do it. That is why it is...

    The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

The fat lady is warming up, I, along with 99% of British football fans, simply could not fathom a scenario where a team such as Leicester could sustain a title challenge. I still find it difficult to believe. I still think I am in a parallel universe. I have never enjoyed being totally wrong...

    English clubs away seat allocation

Watching Arsenal Barcelona last night something really struck me - Barcelona celebrating goals in front of their own fans at the Emirates. Next week Arsenal will take fans to Barcelona and they will be sat so far away from the pitch they will need a tv subscription to see the action. I do not...
