I think that when Leeds had him on loan they were playing him at Left Back. Perhaps he has been more successful with us because we are playing him in his proper position of Centre Back.

To be fair to Beattie he has played a lot of his career at a higher level and getting him on a free isn't a bad deal. Prefer him to Haynes or Priskin.

Our problems started in the Summer when we sold Morison. Henderson is the only striker we now have who WAS scoring goals. Now they have dried up from him as well. We can't afford Simpson's wages to sign him permanently but definitely need at least one more striker. Marquis is good cover for Henderson but McQuoid even when fit is never in the squad for games and Batt never looks as though he will ever be fit again.
