Should England and other Euro teams boycott world cup

All I know is that when we (USA) boycotted the 1980 Olympics it sure made the Russians reconsider their invasion of Afghanistan...not. (LOL) I agree with the above poster...a boycott would do nothing.

Should we be entertaining selling Petr Cech to Arsenal?

Am I the only one here who is NOT enthralled with Courtois? I cringe with every shot on goal when he's playing. Not so with Cech, as I was quite confident he'd stop just about anything. Don't know if it's possible but I'd rather loan Coutois (to a European league) for another year or two and...

Scholes: Di Maria unhappy at United

Ouch, now that hurts. Will be interesting to see what we get for him to stay in Italy permanently. Any guesses? (I'd estimate about £12m-£16m)

    Lampard, 36, v Gerrard, 34

Wow, surprised by so much lack of respect for Gerrard! I too would select Lampard over him but he's still a very good player and always classy as well.

Hazard is on another level, and is unplayable???

Agree with your analysis. He can dazzle you with his footwork in close, but every time he has the ball, he runs down the left wing then stops just outside the box, and plays around with the ball instead of doing something positive with it, ultimately wasting yet another chance. Defenders have...

Who Would You Rather Have As Boss?

Rodgers. Smart man, and hoping he'll get things turned around soon. Poyet is up-and-coming and has so much enthusiasm, and will surely mature into a fine manager. Harry's too old and looks like he's about had enough. Poch doesn't impress me much this year, and ol' thumbhead is too inflexible.

The greatest PL game you have seen?

Yes, that one was great for a neutral fan like myself. Or anyone besides ManU fans. Another one was the Chelsea 6-0 shellacking of Arsenal last season. During that game we saw Arsene Wenger make a face as if he were sucking on a lemon. Oh, wait a minute...he always looks like that.

Is it too early to say Arsenal, United and Liverpool are out of the title race?

They still can't put away the teams they should be putting away...in other words, they're still trying to sit on a one-goal lead against lower teams too often. If Costa's hamstrings ever heal, I'll breathe easier. And FWIW, I am not sold on Courtois. Too shaky, IMO. I'd rather see Cech and his...

    The Relegation Thread

Burnley - no question here. Sorry guys, thanks for participating. Sunderland - I like Gus Poyet, don't see any way they'll stay QPR - see below I do think both QPR and Leicester are (slightly) better teams than their respective records, but if you can't put it all together for 90 minutes...

Ancelotti: I sold Di Maria because he was not good technically

Hmm. Although I can never pretend to know anywhere near as much as either of those managers, my eyes tell me differently. DiMaria is perhaps the top weapon ManU has so far this season. Doesn't finish his plays often enough, but he gets downfield faster than anyone else. Rooney and RVP seem to be...

    Drogba

I'm relatively new to soccer...only been following it about a little over a year now. (But I've jumped in with both feet, watching as much as I possibly can, so desperate for a game that I even sit through those Uruguayan League games that look like they're being played at the neighborhood...

how old is diego costa really. poll time bitches!

LOL, even as a Chelsea fan, I had to laugh at this thread. I was thinking the same thing this past weekend...he is the oldest-looking 26-yr-old I've ever seen. Except of course, when he's got the ball at his feet or breaking downfield, of course) Definitely some lycanthropy in the family...

    Who has surprised you most?

I voted for the most positive surprise, IMO that being The Hammers' rise to relevance. Will they finish near the top of the table? I doubt it, somewhere around midtable is my guess. But Big Sam's gotten them believing so far... Negative surprises...not really surprised Liverpool is struggling...
