It's traditional in the sense that it's been around for a long time. But the layout is quite unique; the undulation, the long straights and the relatively small amount of braking zones.

I would also say DRS is a big factor, particularly at Spa. During Quali drivers are free to use it whenever they want, during the race it can only be used in the DRS zone.
