Lando is more openly emotional than Oscar. If Lando hadn't crashed in Canada, which was a stupid display of emotion, he would be home and dry with the championship by now. He does need to sort out his starts. I note he doesn't seem to have a plan while some angle their cars in a premeditated...

I find myself almost wanting Max to win the title, which I never wanted to be the case. Mclaren have made such a mess of things I can see it happening. In any event, next week is going to be interesting and I am genuinely going to detach myself from supporting any of the contenders. Let the...

Looks very likely that it will not be settled till next weekend.

Spare Parts (F1 odds and ends)

Two more races weekends then we will see what the pecking order looks like next season. Will be fascinating. I have my fingers crossed for Lando as the alternative is probably Max. Whatever happens I will enjoy the show. I hope the WDC isn't settled till the last race. Only 9 times this century...

Thank god it wasn't Horner who was viewed by the media to be in the mix for the job. It is interesting that the woman he was cleared of not harrassing got her job back after Horner left.

I woke to watch the race then went back to sleep. I dreamt that Lando was disqualified, when I then woke, lo and behold. Abu Dhabi may yet prove to be a nail biter. It certainly isn't boring yet. Fair play to Max, he has seen off all his team mates as well being in the hunt still. Lando needs...

I suspect you are right too, tonight's race will be an indicator as to how tight it might be. If Lando makes the win tonight I don't see him being stopped although theoretically possible.

I have a lot of respect for Verstappen and his skill but I don't like him. Out of the two Mclaren drivers, Lando is portrayed in a different light than Oscar, presumably because I am watching the UK broadcast. We see shots of Lando's family and his perceived emotional ups and downs. Here in the...

Spare Parts (F1 odds and ends)

Ferrari have tried many drivers in recent years and seem not to be able to extract the best from the drivers, seems to be the opinion of its chairman. I am sure Elkann is a very intelligent man and according to Sky he just wants them to focus getting back to second in the championship, or if not...

More like In Ferrari...I am sure that is what you meant. Seems to me he is part of the problem. Ferrari's performance has been off for some years, or hasn't he noticed?

I will admit Oscar is looking somewhat defeated but then so did Lando a couple of races after the break. After today there are still 85 points available. Today's result is not a given. I would like Lando to win but more importantly I don't want Verstappen to win which is looking an unlikely outcome.

Much as I want Lando to win, you can't write Oscar off yet. Lando is fast but also more emotional. One DNF or off track excursion and the world changes.

Carlos, he left Mclaren for Ferrari before being let go for Lewis. I remember the disappointment on Carlos's face when he realised Mclaren was becoming a good car while he was driving at Ferrari. What might have been had he stayed at Mclaren, who only knows?

Norris has been on form for a few races, hope he keeps this up but still a long way to go. I can't help thinking Carlos must be kicking himself, jumping ship for Ferrari. Disappointed for him but it was his decision.
