They "upgraded it" this year... and it looks exactly the same as it did before. It was as if they ripped the original crossing layout up, then reused the original blueprint by accident. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised it that was the story.

It looks like a derelict swimming pool. Much better shape and size and the surrounding landscaping is a lot better. The whole thing has higher quality materials and a great finish, it just looks swimming pool ish - the stones for the side walls, and those lights look like water jets.

The light stacks are permanent. They were planned even before the street scene improvements to illuminate those buildings. I agree that they're a bit intrusive.
