Have I missed something as there are no entries for Slipofthepen. Has he been retired or destroyed?

The 2023 Epsom Derby - Unnamed and/or unraced at 2

What has happened to all the brown horses? Everything is bay and occasional chesnut, Is this to do with Northern Dancer's influence?

    Bustino's Breeding Bits

Pearl Secret is a lovely horse , with a lot of white that some might not like. There was a horse called Cacador that was registered in the 1950 Stallion Book as a skewbald, Cacador is common in National Hunt pedigrees but I have never been able to find an image of him.

    Royal Stud 2023

Yes, the winner had poor forelegs, plenty of Lost Soul progeny in Holliday's stud. She did through a NH sire in National Trust. If we are thinking of the right mare Fortune's Darling.

Why are so many of the Royal runners gelded? This looks to be a new departure.

    The Gordon Elliott Photo Thread

"The daily mail are hypocritical, they are fanning the flames of a story , I'm not defending elliot by any stretch , the man is a bully and possibly an abuser , the betting shop punters on the whole only care about their winnings, if a horse tragically dies during a race , you often hear cursing...

    The Gordon Elliott Photo Thread

What made it all the more disturbing was that the horse not bridled and didn't have a saddle, so when Elliot is astride Morgan it must have been some time after his death. This makes to me that he was fully enjoying toying with the dead horse and it shows absolutely no remorse and absolutely no...

    The Royal Stud 2019

Why are so many of the colts gelded? Is it their make and shape or have they got mental quirks? Or is it more horses are being gelded than they were used to be? It is poor that geldings are being allowed in the top group 1 contests now, Defoe is a waste of space lovely horse though he is, but...

    2017 Derby and Oaks

That would be the craziest mating, horse with five legs and two heads anyone? Think she will go to the Yorkshire Oaks, maybe King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, because the Derby winner looks no great shakes, his pedigree would suggest a St Leger, but they'll be too scared he might have...

    2017 Derby and Oaks

With a pedigree like Enable's in today's breeding market there will be serious limitations. Where could she go?

    2017 Derby and Oaks

Doubt if Cracksman will get the trip, too many sprinters in the bottom half and the sire is unproven when it comes to siring stayers.

    Jack Hobbs: an appreciation.

I wrote something similar about him on my blog before he was placed at Epsom. If breeders consign him to the NH sphere, then they are complete fools. I hate the saturation of Northern Dancer blood and I think it is a disaster for the breed. Okay it looks to work, but has placed the thoroughbred...
