    The Sevilla Thread

Hi All, not posted or been on the site in an age and I hope you are still all okay - just in case you missed it - we won the Europa League Final (again) tonight. Six times winners now. The Señora is very happy. Hope Fulham have as good season as we are looking forward to out here. Last match...

    Coronavirus

Situation here in Spain is worse than the UK - but you have to keep smiling and know we will get through it. Stay safe everyone and the señora and I will see you on the other side, whenever that is.

Nothing to do with Sevilla but what has happened to C58? Does anyone know? He used to be on this thread quite a lot and I haven't heard from him in ages?

We wanted rid. The season before he came to Fulham he fell out quite publicly with the manager Montella and some of the supporters. Hence he got farmed out last year as well. We have a top keeper in Vaclik and in the summer brought in a very experienced one as back up - Bounou (a...

    Transfer Window - Summer 2019

Mawson injured? Well I never. I said at the end of last season they should have got rid. Might have talent but as he is injured so often he is not worth keeping. A good, solid defender to replace him should have been in the plans because it is pointless thinking he will play for more than 8...

    It's gone quiet??

Very sad news about Reyes. Only a young man, too. Legend for us, though. RIP Jose.

Valencia won and Getafe drew. We also won so finish 6th and qualify for the Europa League (again). Not a bad season but a couple of poor patches meant early promise - we were top at one stage - fizzled out a bit. Still onwards and upwards. See you next season, chaps, have a good summer.

El Presidente has gone public with his displeasure that our match on Saturday is an afternoon game. He says the temperature in Seville will be much higher than in where the other teams going for the Champions league places are playing. He really should have checked the weather forecast first...

Meant to post this up earlier but, you know, events, dear boy, events. Probably the best descriptive piece on the Derby that I have read. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/apr/15/sevilla-resurrection-continues-under-joaquin-caparros-in-the-holy-derby-real-betis-la-liga

Good. They can have him. I'll meet him at Calais with my engine running if he likes.

    Transfer Window - Summer 2019

Think Nordveit is on a contract but only until the end of the season - 6 month job. If we let everyone go as per SBM's post we would get rid of a huge chunk of the wage bill, which would be handy. My only concern is that if we can't offload Anguissa, Seri, etc, then we haven't been smart...

    Transfer Window - Summer 2019

Hopefully joining him will be Anguissa, who has been useless (£30m - 0 goals, 0 assists, 1 red card), Seri, who has been next to useless, Le Marchand who is an absolute liability in defence, Mawson who is never fit and seems to be made of glass (injured putting on his boots for Christ’s sake) so...

    Team v Liverpool

Obviously I have seen Rico a lot out here and he is a good keeper. Equally obviously I haven’t really seen him this season but it seems like he is having a torrid time. He does tend to punch rather than catch, but keepers out here do so it is second nature to him. I would also assume his...

A cracker of a game, just like the weather out here - currently 27 degrees. My personal favourite was his third, where the keeper sprinted way out of his goal only to have Ben Yedder play it in to the net from miles out. Hilarious.
