    Cardiff v Leicester match thread

Well to be fair, 13 of the penalties were class by the sounds of it, so you do have a point. I do still think there is a huge element of luck involved, though - only needs a slip, or for the keeper to accidently go the right way (or the wrong way, but save hit with his feet), or the ball to go 3...

    And another penny drops...

Give it another month or so and Brizzle fans will be moaning "why didn't we take Leicester's money when we did? We could have rebuilt our defence with it". I have some sympathy with the fans (those who weren't total tits during Maynardgate) that they will have to suffer this season when it could...

    Brighton and Southampton.

Definitely Southampton for me. Look far more dangerous going up front and a stronger midfield as well. Brighton look decent going at the back and their build-up play is good, but they lack penetration. My predictions would be Saints will finish between 3rd and 5th and Brighton are in and about...

    Paulo Sousa Head Butt

'Head Butt'? I doubt Sousa even knows his head from his butt.....

    Cardiff v Leicester match thread

Good effort by the lads last night, sadly we yet again lost the penalty shoot-out lottery, but we gave a strong Cardiff side a stiff test and a few of the players (namely Johnson, Howard, Dyer) have given themselves a shot at being in with a chance of a bench place in the league. Here's hoping...

    In Sven we trust?

For me, this falls into two questions; Do I trust Sven? - Not completely. I think he has made many tactical errors this year, in terms of both formation and personnel, and his reluctance to drop his favourites is very reminisent (sp) of his England days. I am somewhat disappointed in him tbh...

    Messiah returning

I've heard it mentioned that Moyes will get the Spuds job when 'Arry gets the England job. I still think MON is holding out for a top job, hence why he rejected WHU last year.

Calm down lads, knee jerk statements and panic decisions get us nowhere....

Getting rid of Sven is certainly not the answer to our problems. Our record of replacing managers at the start of a season (Taylor, Adams, Allen, Sousa) is not great; although they maybe shouldn't have been hired in the first place (with the exception of Micky), replacing them at the beginning...

    Rooney Rule!!!

In which case, this rule would do just the trick and encourage more black players to go into coaching.....no? If they know they have no chance of getting a job, why would they bother working for their badges?

    Messiah returning

I saw the article yesterday...no quotes or any evidence to back up their claim. In other words, it's made up. The Sunday Mirror are finishing off what the NOTW started.... I doubt MON would come back anyway, I think he's holding out for a big job, possibly for Fergie to retire.

    Team for Brighton

Regarding the Mills v Bamba debate, I'm more inclined to believe their inability to play as a unit is more down to Bamba than Mills. Mills was excellent for Reading last season and is easily one of the best defenders in this league. But his partner, 'Bombscare' Bamba, showed towards the back end...

    Tommy Wright

A good lad who never got the chance to make it through. I am good friends with a Port Vale fan who tells me that Louis Dodds is doing extremely well over there. Whether both would've made it here is doubtful, but I'm surprised they didn't get more of a chance, especially when our team was far...

    Rooney Rule!!!

"I doubt chairmen and boards around the world are racist and against black managers otherwise they wouldn't sanction the signing of black players." Or they simply do not want to work directly with black people?

    Rooney Rule!!!

I think some people have missed the point regarding this rule. It won't force clubs into hiring black managers, but just to give them an interview in the first place. The likes of Powell, Hughton, Rosenior, Alexander (RIP) have been fairly successful, certainly no less successful than a large...

    El Hadji Diouf

Emilio, I agree, Heskey was my favourite player at the time as well. In fact, 'Heskey 9' was the first ever LCFC shirt I had! I was gutted when we sold him to Liverpool as well. But, looking back now with greater hindsight, I do think that for all his strengths, he didn't give us as much as...
