    Cheltenham Day 4 Daily Thread

Not been on in a while but kept an eye on some of the postings! Hope all is going well for all at the Festival!!!! Had a so-so week - place pot up first day. Sir Des Champs & Simonsig good wins. Albertas Run making me a good return e/w and stuffed with the rest! BALDER SUCCESS; EGARDO SOL; FOX...

Under The Spotlight: 'Episode 5'- Al Ferof | Horse Racing

Very early in the season - indeed in their chasing careers but Al Ferof to me would be the pick of the two right now. Next season's Gold Cup - Long Run; Al Ferof; Peddlers Cross & Grands Crus perhaps - and with that Bobs Worth & Sprinter Sacre haven't started yet!!

    Well done Henderson

Bolger didn't break any rules - OK it wasn't too punter friendly in terms of the ante-post but anyone could have backed him on the day! Well done to Nicky Henderson - seven from seven is perfect but looking at the horses; the odds and the fields they were running in was it that big a...

    The Hennessy Gold Cup

Keep getting drawn to Wymott running off 10-2 but the Nicholls' yard seem to be very bullish over 1833 & Michel Le Bon! It may not be as high profile line up as last season but you could make a good argument for nine or ten of them IMO!

    Eclipse Frankel's 10f Target for 2012

Zenyatta - Sir Henry originally said the Lockinge would be the starting point and then Ascot fits in nicely with the Queen Anne or Prince Of Wales, before the Eclipse for the first half of the season. I would guess if that's stuck to then the Queen Anne cakewalk would be on the agenda!

Amlin Chase at Ascot on Saturday

I agree I can't fancy Master Minded at that price conceding weight and - for me - a slight question mark now if he is the horse he was. OK he may have needed the run at Aintree but I couldn't back him with that still in mind. Captain Chris improved as he went on last season and would have won...

    Daily Thread: Saturday 22nd October

For Camelot see St Nicks Abbey or Frankel - not buying into any hype at all! Ruby - you can hit the horse eight times - you hit him nine! Live with it - its the new rules AP and all were applauding a month ago! Is it workable no...but to threaten to down tools in the middle of a meeting is ****!

Breaking News - Whip Rules Changed

I don't see this being the end of it to be honest and fully expect more objections from jockey's - especially when the jump season gets into full swing! Whatever rules they bring in for me is a farce if, off the back of a jockey breaking the rules, a horse is allowed to keep the race. The...

Under The Spotlight: 'Episode 3'- Peddlers Cross | Horse Racing

Looks to be a very strong novice division this season but Peddlers Cross on his Champion Hurdle form and his runs before that deserves to be at the top of the list. Al Ferof & Sprinter Sacre deserve some respect too and Cue Card looked good on his first start last week! If those four line up -...

    The Whip Issue

"The five-hits edict in the final furlong/after the last obstacles has been dropped, although the limit on strikes remains seven times in a Flat race, and eight over jumps. Riders will not lose theirriding fee if they get banned for a whip offence and will forfeit their prize-money percentage...

Under the Spotlight: 'Episode 1'- Quito De La Roque | Horse Racing

Top write up and idea, mate! Cheltenham is a long way off to be saying if he's championship class - has to go a long way to match Long Run but take him out and the staying chase scene looks very open! Do fancy him to be the pick of the second season Irish chasers looking at Noble Prince...

PN - Ahh right OK - cheers for that. Like you say though I've no doubt they could get round it somehow.
