Mate, this is a message forum. Speaking waffle is why were here. What would you suggest we discuss on a forum specifically for ... erm ... discussing football?

    Furthest possible journey?

But has it been confirmed? I cant see that it has. I want to book my train tickets now because of the price but I don't want to rock up in Carlisle if there is no game on!

Funny that, Liverpool must be behind the times as they still issue Payslips and charge PAYE. http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2007/10/sport/Payslipliverpool_450x250.jpg UK footballers pay their tax the same as everyone else on their salary. Can you imagine the furor if they didn't. Especially...

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/it.htm/ Over GBP150k a year gross, you pay 50% income tax. NET is after Tax and National insurance. £4 million a year gross (80k per week gross) is £37k a week net after tax and national insurance. You can insult me all you like but it's basic maths, pal.

Foreign players always talk net not gross. He gets EUR2 mill a year after 50% tax and National insurance. He's on over 80k a week. I am not trying to wind any of you up, I'm sure he'll be great and he is an amazing player but he isn't coming over for 33k a week gross. Not on your life.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...m-move?cc=5739 He's on over £80k a week pal. Quote from the man himself. EUR2 mill a year net. I'm not winding anyone up, it's a fact.

It's actually more than £80k. He gets EUR2 million a year NET. After deductions, i.e. Income Tax and NI. Over £150k a year he's paying 50% tax as well as NI. It's a massive wage.

EUR2 Million a year NET? Thats not gross. He's on GBP80k a week before deductions. That is a lot of money and I'd imagine more than others were willing to offer.
