    More to leave yet

Wanyama's got to be hacked off too. He was another recruit sold on 'the project'.

    Slightly disappointed...

I don't know what you other lads think, but I look at Jay Rod's improvement since MP's appointment and almost think of him as another new arrival. Loving his surging runs from deep positions. I didn't see it at first, but think he is going to develop into a very good player. Very happy with...

Article: Roger Hughes on Sky sports opinion of Southampton

I feel 7th or 8th is realistic based on the following ... Last season we had a terrible start to the campaign. Don't expect a repeat given our preparation, confidence levels and opening games. Under Pochettino we have improved a great deal. The OPTA article just the other day echoed that...

The New Shirt - Yay or Nay?

There's definitely a 'pub team' vibe about that one, DTLW

Yes, OROW. Although, I have to say how impressed I am with how quickly he has implemented his style of play and got everybody at it! Even Mark Lawrenson commented on what a well drilled side Saints were last season. For achieving that alone, he gets a thumbs up from me.

    Article: Optimism....Southampton Football.

Agree, New Era! When I cast an eye over last season's table, the points margin between where we finished and the eighth spot isn't too great. The jump to a top six spot is a different story. Can't help thinking a top eight finish has to be a managerial target / expectation for next season...

Only just seen DTLW's post about the Pochettino pressing game. Brilliant info :-)

    Pochettino's Pressing Game

Great statistics, DTLW. Just been probing for exactly this kind of thing on another thread. Top find. Thanks for sharing. I love stuff like this. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I'll drink it all day :-)

    Article: Optimism....Southampton Football.

I was quite shocked to look back over our results under Pochettino last season. Mainly because things felt good on the whole; better. But just four wins from sixteen games had me questioning why I felt so good about the upcoming season. Clearly, Saints have already strengthened in the...

England drop to lowest Fifa world ranking in five years

Agreed, gents. Young players are often discouraged from doing the correct or ambitious thing because they perhaps can't always master the execution. Coaches, and sometimes parents, stress about the possible negative outcome ( like it was important ). Managers are often discouraging, without a...
