    Striker Search

Izale McLeod is a big NO. He was a big hope for Charlton, but it all went wrong. I've seen him at Barnet, he has an ego the size of Marlon King and has some off field problems. Let's just say a polite no and move on!

We are oh so Polite here

Having seen and heard all the action, I agree with this viewpoint. We are a pretty mediocre side who lack a cutting or killer finish. The opening fixtures have been fair, but clearly 3rd bottom is a failure to take our chances. Everyone is calling for big money to be spent - if the owner...

45 shots on target, 3 goals, one point and out in the first round - positives?

Err where did expressions like "the Football League should look into why Watford have no penalties"!!!!! Think again, we maybe unlucky but some of our attempts to "win a penalty" defy belief. Yes we are a struggling club and refs don't often give decisions to strugglers. Do we really believe...

Match Thread: Bristol Rovers v Watford - part 2

The team is as strong as we'd though/hoped, so Dyche is taking the game seriously. Let's hope for a comfortable win to get our season started.

Somehow if we were to be outbid for Baldock (nice by-pass by the way!) Then I would prefer it was by West Ham, once is enough by Charlton!

Sam Badock ......... so you think he'll turn West Ham down saying "sorry boys, but Watford have offered much more money", err maybe but very unlikely IMO.

    Some Stats

OK hang on a minute, I've caught a lot of the action and listened back to commentaries and the simple fact is a number of these shots haven't been "clear cut". A team would expect to score every 2 or 3 clear cuts, but too many of the shots have been "dollies" where there's not enough belief in...

Match Thread: Bristol Rovers v Watford - part 2

Err trying desperately to get back to the Match Thread ....... this is a game Watford could have done without (with all due respect). It is clear Sean Dyche has his work cut out trying to shape his new team/squad/style of play, and this has been done against a backdrop of league games...

In a way I'm surprised no one seems to have dusted off the names of Jamie Cureton and Clinton Morrison - after all they are both "only plying their trade in Div 3". Oh and "Bell Ends" like Will Hoskins and Steve Kabba are on long term contracts, so I can't see them leaving their "safe havens"...

    Discontinuity and bad luck

"A real force in this division", blimey oh Riley it will take more than a striker and some "rub of the green" for that to happen. Honestly we are pretty mediocre, there really is a lack of cut and thrust. I know we have to be optimistic, but this has to be based on some reality.

    Ellington+priskin goal count.

By the way, Nathan's Mum has just been on the phone, "its not fair" she said. So I told her "calm down my love", its not as if Nathan has done any damage to the gol area!!!! LOL And Priskin has had on/off transfer negotiaions with Leeds! Oh yes and psich lost 7-1 (seven) tonight at the...

Who the F is Adam le Fondre, and why do people think a "nothing special" div 4 player is the one to save us? I've seen him over the years and he's about as good as Will Hoskins (with the ego to match). There are 2 goalscorers in Div 4 who I prefer - Ashley Grimes (watch out for his Dad), and...

    Emergency measures?

At the moment I wold suggest resting Taylor as he is our only centre half - Mirfin is just a 2nd rate Mariappa. I saw some footage of Mirfin playing for Scunny last season and boy it wasn't pretty, so I can see him given game time. So Taylor is a scarce commodity, don't get him running around...

    Emergency measures?

I don't agree with this on a number of fronts. First off - Emergency, a League Cup game against 4th division Bristol Rovers? If you were referring to a crunch league game later in the season then maybe? Martin Taylor upfront? I would rest him out of this game, not get him running around...
