Born a stone's throw from the Priestfiled and attended my first game in 1974 (an end of season Friendly against Coventry City). As the years have passed, work has taken me further and further away from the Priestfield but absence has certainly made this heart fonder and the efforts to get back for games, home and away, have become greater and greater.
Gills heros: Hess (of course) Tony Pulis who dragged back from the dead and took us all the way to Wembley, Tony Cascarino and 'Super' Bob Taylor.
Never going to be popular as I believe that, under the much maligned Mark Stimson, we tried and occasionally managed, to play good football. Even more unpopular when I say I don't belive it is in anyone's inetrest to keep haranguing the Chairman, he has nothing like the money of other Chairman but he has shown ambition and taken the club forward ... just think for a minute where we were, on the field and off, when he took over. Now think about Stockport, Lincoln, Darlington, Mansfield etc.
Summer signings have been quite superb, the is the team that Hess built and this is the team that will deliver.
Proud to be a shouting Man!
