Beckford's move to Bolton hinges on his wages - allegedly around £38k pw at LCFC!!

Reading the story, Dougie only wants players who are hungry for his team. Not sure he is looking at the right player here. However, hopefully we will drop the transfer fee.

    Darlington

Perhaps we could help them out and make a generous offer for whoever is their star midfield player. Couldn't make us any worse at the moment.

Ghana star on City's wish list

Pantsil's wage demands are half those of Yakubu who I know does the important thing of scoring goals. I'm afraid these Premier League players are going to want high wages.

    Favourite City Player who...

Remember Malcom Manley. Utility player who was in and out of the side. Then there was Alan Woollett who played in defence. Both were in the 12 for the '69 cup final. Woollett had one really good season in the 1970's but was otherwise a perenial reserve.

    Favourite City Player who...

Steve Yates - related to David Nish. Midfielder who could never keep a regular place in the first team under Jimmy Bloomfield despite having a useful left foot.

    Favourite City Player who...

Peter Welsh - back in the 1970's. Could play in defence or midfield and had a very good shot. Perenial substitute or reserve but always looked to do something with the ball. Eventually went into local football, I think.

Looks like Sven Has Seen Sense Then

I think Mr King should be very grateful to Coventry for taking him on and giving him another chance. He should be more than happy to give them some loyalty - whether football is about money or not.

    Scaremongering

Its normal at this time of year for managers, players and, presumably, club admin to all go on holiday. Its been a long season for them all and everything does tend to go very quiet until mid-June when contracts are nearing their end. But, you never know in football. Strange decision by Mark...
