Match Day Thread Sunderland AFC v Hull City – Saturday 22nd February 2025 - KO 12:30

a needless way to give away the corner though, not the first mistake he’s made this season that’s led to us conceding but for balance the goal yesterday he was as much to blame as Patterson and Roberts. We should have also of been better offensively, goals win games.

I feel like this with Rigg to mind, love him to bits but definitely need to manage his time better to offset the risk of burnout.

And I get that argument, but it’s definitely something we need to be looking into in the summer. I’m not looking at us going out and laying 20m down on one, I fully expect it to be a young development thing (Seelt might even be that) but I do belive that we need quality in that position more so...

This is exactly it with regards to O’Nien, i feel I’m level headed enough to understand why he’s trusted by everyone’s that had the hot seat job even before RLB came in, i can see what he does well and also what he doesn’t do as well. I’m also a realist and have a belief that effort over...

    The Championship 24/25

Be lucky to get 5m for him at this stage, only get more for him for English tax. Give me a 6ft 3 Scandinavian monster that can command the box and play with his feet I beg.

    Luton

amazing the downfall when there’s literally zero smoke coming from the boardroom to suggest mass financial constraints like we had. The general consensus always was “they’ll go up earn a bag of cash, most likely come back down but with a better squad to go straight back up and ££££” Mad how...

    Transfer Rumours Summer Transfer window

yep, he’s been given more than enough time to improve and while he’s a good shot stopper his confidence or lack of it is telling and I think opposition are identifying that prior to playing us which ultimately makes him a weak link. That’s not even factoring in his kicking either which is...

    Off Topic Life after divorce

I grew up from a similar position mate, the difference being between my father and yourself is that he made very little effort to stay present in my life and was lucky to see him once or twice a month. He missed everything from my life that I’d needed a father figure there for. (Football games...

Good points and one of also like to add. Defence hasn’t looked solid and assured and Patterson’s confidence has gone missing since Chris Mepham lost his place in the starting 11, as well as O’Nien’s mistakes have crept back in.

Like I’ve said Patterson, O’Nien and Roberts all to blame for that goal and all three are our weakest links.

100%, good shot stopper but it’s the distribution I can’t get away from.

that’s it, the positions of improvement in this squad are absolutely clear as day now and it starts with Patterson and Roberts, mind the difference between parachute payment money and not having that was clear last night just by the players Leeds could put on the pitch from their bench.

Just re-watched the second goal their on sky sports news (turned it straight off last night when the ball hit the net in a huff) Reluctant to blame Patterson because I do that I do that enough with his distribution from his feet but my word you’ve got to do better there.

Not to blame but my word Anthony Patterson, how on earth can you train day in and day out and not improve your distribution with your feet this far into your professional career is absolutely obsurd to me.
