I was banking on them appealing to hopefully fix the shambles that is "for the show" FIA. Not sure I'll be able to motivate myself to watch if things stay unchanged. Who knows, maybe if I take it as scripted entertainment I might change tune.

The way the fans are reacting I'm not sure you'd want to be associated with F1. Talking to people in work who don't really watch F1 they don't understand why people watch for 2 hours if some guy just decides who wins at the end.

Wonder if there's any chance of Mercedes walking? Must be hard to make a business case for sport where they make up rules 99.99% of the way into a season to stop you winning. Their contact probably ties them into the sport too much to leave, but then I guess you only have to follow the rules...

I don't think the result should be changed as that would be horrific. But as things stand unless there are repercussions for what has happened today I feel like I'm going to struggle to motivate myself to watch next season. I already feel miffed that I've basically wasted half my weekends this...

I can't see any outcome where Max isn't champ. This is all PR for Mercedes for next season, and hopefully to clean out the race control department. There's no question that the FIA have decided the champion here by ignoring their own rules, safety rules at that, but that's not Max or Red Bulls...

Yeah giving Max a penalty will only make this worse. The FIA are going to have to admit this is on them rather than trying to dig their way out of this.

As far as I'm concerned Max is now that Champion, what is done is done. I do want to see repercussions though for manufacturing the end result though. Brushing it under the carpet will hurt the sport too much. I'm glad Mercedes have lodged a complaint, it won't achieve much for them but...
