How will the new look Saints fit together?

I think with the strength in depth that this squad possess, we will have real competition on the training paddock. The squad doesn't have a natural eleven (unlike last season) which makes for everyone feeling they have a shot at the first team if they work hard to deserve it. RK seems the type...

    How strong is our midfield?

You are spot on, we have to have the mind set that every player will likely miss 6 games and ensure the squad can cope. We must learn from last season and not rely on fielding one strong side, and being weaker through absentees. Ron is a great coach and will plan for this I'm sure.

The Telegraph: Morgan Schneiderlin accepts he is staying at Southampton and will play

Fingers crossed that the board remain strong and Morgan respects his contract by being a true professional. Leave the emotional turmoil to us, the fans. This can be a team of great promise, another season to enjoy! COYS

    Feeling more positive?

From the northern end it looked like Blowers had wandered in from Test Match Special. Someone hide his cravat !

    PRE-SEASON: Bayer Leverkusen - Saturday 9th August - 17:00 KO

Preparation games are always difficult to give an insight into a new season, however I thought yesterday's game was a perfect one for the coaches to identify areas that we must sharpen up on. The centre midfield cannot continue to take the ball into feet in such a static way, we were constantly...

    BBC Sport Article

No real problem with this article. It does show that the BBC (and press) are no better informed than the rest of us, which of course does lead to speculation based on ones own bias. I believe that the board has now developed a plan for the way forward based on the action of others, and not their...

What should you do when deep down inside you realise that.....

Godders, your support will always be your choice, and not based on the behaviour of others. To me your passion has always shone through, so to read of your hurt is hard to take. I'm sure that Frau Godders is pretty miffed with the situation as well (bless her!), however remember that its...

    Krueger returns - he's alive!

A written request and refusing to train are all logical conclusions following the boards strategy. For the sake of any credibility the board must just invoke appropriate sanctions ( fines, exclusion etc. ) If this is a test of resolve, this has to be where the board go "all in".

    Krueger returns - he's alive!

DTLW thanks for the summary. At the minute we'll take anything that seems like good news. Without a doubt this is a watershed moment for Kruger et al. The statement on Morgan and Jay has now nailed themselves to the mast. If the desertions are now over, and we have some intelligent signings...

    Markus Liebherr

What a wonderful legacy he has left us. His spirit will live forever in our hearts as Saints fans. The debt owed to him is one that we will remember gladly forever.

    Interview with Les Reed

Yes Lambo, I go back to early 60's, and have seen quite a few twist and turns in that time. We are all entitled to be sceptics when our club speaks to us, however I feel a an extra level integrity was added when ML took over. I'm happy to believe that KL is going to carry on the good work, and...
