    Match Day Thread Oxford A

Stuart Brennan BBC Sport England Daniel Jebbison scored his fifth goal of the season to fire up Preston North End's bid for a Championship play-off place with a win at Oxford United. Match Day Thread Millwall The Den 8/11/2025 12.30pm

A decent point against Milwall. Usually a tough place to get anything. Getting to the Den is intimidating enough by all accounts. The local teams are struggling. Delia's voice a distant cry now.Not sure she is still a director. And Ipswich's brewing family has long gone, NE seem to.be bucking...

It would be fascinating. Family owned, responsibly financed, and, at last, a decent manager, but one of the lowest budgets even in the Championship. Just one issue: RIDSDALE! The scapegoat for NE's lack of success, but consider the long journeys of teams like Brighton and Bournemouth, have had...

Firstly, it is no use NE claiming for a penalty...waste of time because they are never awarded. Secondly, twas a game of superb saves. Had there been leeser goalies it would havre been 3-3.

Match Day Thread Hull City MKM Stadium 30/9/2025

McBurnie deserved to be named Player of the Match. Until half time Hull were dire, 3 subs and behold a different team. NE seemed to be quick off the blocks, were superior in the first half but then ran out of energy. Penalty or not? It is a long time since NE were awarded a penalty. And there...

Match Day Thread Bristol City Deepdale 27/9/2025

Preston North End extended the unbeaten home start to the season at Deepdale with a goalless draw against Bristol City. PNE’s clearest opening of the day fell for Milutin Osmajić, who was let down by a heavy touch, while Anis Mehmeti missed the target for the visitors from a one-on-one...

Match Day Thread Derby County Pride Park 20/9/2025 15.00hrs

It seems to be a common fault with modern keepers. They do not command the 6 yd box like Banks and company. There was one I saw recently who clawed everything from corners but she was the current England women's goalie.

Match Day Thread Derby County Pride Park 20/9/2025 15.00hrs

I wonder if having Iverson is making a big difference? A goalie has a 'crow's nest' view of the game, and a good goalie not only is a shot stopper but can also anticipate the opponents' moves. He has a better view than the bench.
