    This seasons Fantasy Football League

Oh I don't know SBM, you were up against a worthy competitor ;) Many thanks 58. I casually browse the messageboards each week, but to be perfectly honest, this season hasn't been much to write home about! But I will try and post more often in future.

Why thank you Cottager! ;) I'm working 6 days a week now so have such little time to check in on these messageboards, more a casual visitor than a contributor these days...

    Relegation Watch 2013/4

6 points in the last 4 games, two defeats against Man City and Everton, hardly 'rubbish' form really, especially taking yours into account. And if you think the Villa game was a fluke, you obviously weren't watching. If we beat you in the next game, you're down, and your fans know it. If you...

    Baffled Bent

Surely by 'merit' you mean that the player has 'earned' his place in the team, and as Woodrow was out on loan earlier in the season, you have to judge him on that spell rather than his time with us, no? Well Woodrow was barely more than an impact sub at Southend, so this would lead me to assume...

    Mitroglou

A disaster of epic proportions. Begs the question, why did he play for Greece in a meaningless friendly? I remember Litmanen playing a match or two for Finland during his time here too without ever pulling on the shirt for us.

    Baffled Bent

Can't agree with this sorry. Woodrow was barely getting a game for Southend and Dembele had been injured for quite some time, when both returned to full fitness and were inserted into the team, it wasn't on 'merit' but purely because we had exhausted our striking options and failed so it was...

    Baffled Bent

I get the feeling Magath has been instructed by someone higher up to experiment with the team and only play those who have a chance of being here next season, obviously this rules out Bent, who has less chance of being here next season than anyone else in our team. I was rather hopeful when we...

    Next season

So in our squad he's basically a teenager.

    Next season

I'd keep Hangeland on the basis that both Heitinga and Amore are released/sold. Letting Brede go leaves just Burn as our only recognised CB. Riether has had a poor season and he's only 30, which is hardly 'old' for a defender. If Grimmer or Passley are ready to make the step up then sell Riether...

    Next season

With so many contracts expiring, I would have thought the decision has already been made for us and that the majority of over 30's will leave. Let's hope the rest have clauses in their contracts in regards to relegation/wages etc. Kostas will leave, no doubt about that, hopefully we can recoup...

    Mitroglou

This. We were desperate on deadline day and if you remember, West Ham also had a bid accepted for Mitro. I'm sure the thought of one of our relegation rivals stealing a march on us for this multi million striker was unfathomable so the transfer was pushed through. Injury problems with medicals...

Jesus Christ. Mesca just seemed to disappear from the earth too...

Trotta? I know he was here pre-season.

    Yet Another Hurdle

It's all about baby steps, it's not like we're in a relegation battle or anything ;) Maybe Felix has concluded that our work with the football is just fine. Parker and Sidwell have mastered the art of passing sideways.

No wonder Amore is grimacing in the background.
