The team needs the fans today. The team has to go out and get on the front foot. But then the fans have to support the team.
The supporters will turn on the players and manager very quickly today if we don't start well and just sit back.
I'm not usually critical of our support, we are what we are, but I've been, ever so slightly irked, by a few comments both on here & moreso on the Sadlife Fan's Forum about supporters not being arsed to go because we're playing negative football & are basically ****. A bloke put a video on Sadlife last night & appeared proud that his young lad didn't want to go because we don't win & Phelan will pick a **** team & deploy negative tactics. Many, many others supported him. I think this attitude is ****ing ****. Whatever happened to "City 'til IDie"? Did it die when the fair weather Premier League supporter was born? I can't get my head around the fact that there are some supporters who think that a poor manager, poor team selection, poor performances, poor results & perceived poor player effort are good enough reasons to boycott games yet the continued rape of the club & it's very soul by the Allam family can be tolerated. I don't have a problem with any supporter taking up their choice to attend games in the current climate, fair play to them, but if you're going to stop going please do it for the right reasons.
My seat will be empty. :-( Would rather watch my team play ****e and lose 6-0 then not go. At least I could boo Mason if I was there .
If Phelan doesnt play tom i hope he picks Meyler. For one, with Harry playing as well hopefully, we will be more of a threat at set pieces. Our best chance of goals. Going up for corners or defending them we'd have Dawson Davies Maguire Meyler Clucas Elmo Livermore. Thats 7 good headerers of the ball. Plus Dio for nuisance value. A few set piece routines wouldnt go amiss. As a point I've noticed Elmo isnt in the box for corners. He should be. when he isnt handballing it he's a good headerer of the ball. We need all the help we can get.
Not usually arsed about selections/formations etc but... I'd play 532 and have Meyler and Huddlestone both starting.
Head and mind is always fine. Just abit knackered but will soon bounce back. Big hugs because your all big positives to me.
The mrs has gone to watch the panto today with the kids. Linda Lusardi's in it. FFS She never told me that did she. meh
Come on City lets smash these southern ****ing ****ers. Harry get into Benteke and dont let that diving **** Zaha near the box.
Personally would of had snodgrass where elmos playing And two strikers not an in the hole With bowen alongside diomande Were at home phelan ffs
I think at least the team is a step in right direction. Think Huddlestone lucky to be in ahead of Meyler but apart from that cant complain given his options.
