Dave, what you thinking? Yoshi has only just got the f****** idiots that sit behind us to accept that he's only useless, not a f****** useless (oriental)c***! Now what will they do? You must think these things through.
If I see Redmond starting tomorrow, I will pull hair my out. After Thursday night, he doesn't even deserve to be on the bench - but lack of depth, coupled with an injury or two, means that I can accept him being a sub. On the one hand I feel like the players owe us a performance (and I am not at all the sort of person to usually say that). But on the other hand I think, "so what?". It still wouldn't make up for Thursday. Of course I hope we win, and even better if it's with a good performance and a goal or two for Long's confidence/form, but I am seriously struggling to get excited about it at all.
After 50 years of following Southampton I am finally beginning to understand some of my fellow fans. You would be pissed off if Saints win tomorrow, because that means they should have won on Thursday. So you would actually be happier if we lose, because then you'll have a better excuse to moan on and on and on and on and on and on and on about the club, the board, Les Reed, the Liebherrs, Ralph Krueger, Jose Fonte, JWP, the pitch, the ground, the toilets, the beer, that bloke who sits behind you, etc., etc. Give me strength.
To be fair to Redmond (disregarding the obscene arguments he seems to have with everyone) he was the only player on Thursday who actually looked like he wanted to do some attacking. Albeit he didn't do anything with the ball when he got to their box.
I always support my team through thick and thin and have done so for many decades, it doesnt mean I have to give them money when I dont agreee with what they are doing - it doesnt detract from those who keep going, that is your/their perogative. And a great response so thanks for contributing
Well Chilcs, I think everyone has a view they can air on here and I dont really see anyone who says they dont want to win any game.
Agreed, he's been awful for weeks now. Especially as we have Tadic back and Sims has broken into the first team. Boufal should be available as well so there's no reason for him to start tomorrow.
I think Channon had the best post wth the Frozen video..... I'll be honest, I'm too pissed off to be pissed off if you get what I mean about Thursday. It happened. **** happens (normally to us admittedly), I'll move on. Every season there is an opportunity missed by us. If there wasn't, we would win the league, the FA Cup, the EFL Trophy and the Europa league every year. Followed by the Champions League the next. Yep I'm being a bit extreme, but we are who we are. A GOOD Premier League team, that on our day will beat ANYONE. But there lies the issue; on our day. We are not a team of stars, but over the last few years (and I'm sure this year too), the sum of individuals that make the team will see us through. Europa League is gone. I'm not saying don't be pissed off as we all have a right to feel however we want. One of the best things of a forum, is discussion, debate and venting. That hurt the players too. It really did. That hurt Claude too. You may think with all their money they don't care, but i'm sure they do - not as much as us, but they do. Football is up there in my priorities in life, but it is after all, just football. Nobody died. If St Godders and Billy want to do their Xmas shopping, so be it. If someone wants to boycott us for the next 6 months, so be it. I'll be there on Sunday, as it's what I do. I go to watch my team and have a bit of escapism from life for a few hours. Life is full of hassle and ****, so what makes it worse is when our football is ****! But we will move on (not march on). I've watched us go through a cup loss, 2 relegations and get knocked out of every cup competition (except the JPT), every year for the last 40 years. We'll have our ups and we'll have our downs. Anyway, enough rambling. We'll win this 1-0. Shane Long in the 90+3 minute to an empty stadium as everyone left at 80. I'll still be there as the traffic will be light by then. Of the 100 or so people left in the ground when the whistle goes, 20 will boo, 10 will shout racist chants about Claude and 30 will moan that Yoshida should go back to Japan. The other 40 will applaud. I'm with that 40.
I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some of our fans. You'd probably have been calling for Churchill's head after Dunkirk, while @St Godders would have been moaning about the the cost of anti aircraft guns during the blitz, sulking and refusing to go to the air raid shelter.
Im sure I have every right to bring up my concerns regarding how the club is currently being run, quite wtf that has got to do with any Winston, Leroy or Tyrone I will never know... If I get to watch the game on a stream tomorrow, I will assume the one clapping if we score (so largely unlikely), will be you Archers...
If we score they'll be able to hear me shouting in Middlesborough. It's what football is all about - the agony and the ecstacy. You can't have one without experiencing the other.
And where is the 'Arse licking' button for this post... Just kidding, Black's post was pretty classy...
I dont believe they will hear you in Middlesborough! And totally agree with the agony and ecstacy - it fills you with passion and pride, but for me there is also a limit on when I think the club is taking the piss, and this is that moment. Not just the EU game either, I always thought we would exit the game and said so in the week.
Genuine question, and I'm not trying to be a smart arse here; did you go to many games between 2005 - 2009? Because if you did, I can't imagine how you can complain about the way the club is currently being run.
I did yes and never said it was worse than that, but being realistic, how much more can we go on like this, taking money out, selling players and not investing . I find the whole 'admin era' argument piss poor to be honest, because that was then and this is now, and we are dealing with what is happening with our club now. With an atttiude of what we used to be, we may awsell support Liverpool or Man U.
I don't know how much longer we can "go on like this" but it's gone pretty well so far. Looking forward to seeing youngsters like Hesketh, McQueen, Sims etc develop. We have bought some real class in recent seasons, Boufal could yet turn out to be the best of them. And we have the best CB in the division. Yes, they'll all probably leave for big clubs eventually - we're still doing something very right getting to watch them in the first place. As for supporting a big club - I live less than 2 miles from Highbury/The Emirates, have done since I moved to London in the eighties. But Saints are in my blood so I'll keep making the trip to the South Coast thanks.
