Has a 0-0 written all over it. Boro would be happy with a point - Puel would be happy a positive out of it and point will just about give that to him. Would actually be very annoyed if we took apart Boro and won 3 or 4 goals to Nil - I will be asking why the team could not have put on a better performance in the last game when there was so much more at stake.
Not sure about the score for this one, but I predict Puel will score an own goal, miss a penalty, get sent off, and kick a baby.
Or you could come to the rational conclusion that playing in Europe is somewhat more difficult and unfamiliar for certain inexperienced teams, than playing in their own domestic league is.
I would expect nothing less. Particuarly the last one, we could do with a bit of excitement. Great passion.
0-2 for me. Fonte to give a penalty away in the first minute, so Claude takes Shane off and replaces him with Yoshida who scores an own goal in the 85th minute. Clasie and Davis spend the match passing the ball between them and back to Virgil. The fans are ecstatic in their Christmas cheer and Santa arrives on the roof of the Chapel stand .........
Quite right too. So I have decided to go Christmas shopping rather than go to the match so there will be two empty seats in the Kingsland. This football club is taking the piss out of its fans.
The team really need us behind them at the moment and I have to say they didn't get that on Thursday. I won't be there on Sunday but I'll be right behind the lads and hoping that we can go into the mini Xmas break feeling a lot better about ourselves. 2-0 Saints.
What a load of bollocks all this get behind the team and roar them on, 12th man and stuff (not aimed at you Saintsfcfan). These ****ers get paid millions and that should be enough to motivate them, they should be behind us fans by giving us everything, yet it often looks this season like they are going through the motions. I am really grateful for the Marcus era, but feel this has come to an end. Im not pissing my pants btw, just a measured view ive been feeling for the past year. The money that has come out of the club is frankly ridiculous, we have been stripped of any decent player and I dont buy the player power stuff all the time either - this is the Board making their £££ back (which I dont blame them for) but we need to move on or we are in serious danger of regressing so far we wont be that viable. Keeping Jay, selling Mane and Pelle in the summer and buying a playmaker who was broken until recently is utter nonsense wirhout buying better players in attacking postions. Like Godders, I was due to go tomorrow, and will not be attending as Im so pissed off with the way the club is being run. As a fan, we have no given right to success, but we do have a right to expect to be able to challenge which this season just isnt the case. Lately it strangely reminds me of the FA Cup final loss season (2003) and this season is 2004...lack of proper investment. If they really wanted to invest in players they had literally months of planning and failed miserably in the summer. Roll on the new owners amd for people who say be careful what you wish for - well this is right back at you as keeping the show as it currently stands isnt going to end so well either. We can also point to Semi finals of the cup (the ****test cup we could be in but never mind the minor details), even if we get to the final the recruitment, investment and playing style is unforgivable. Even when we won a few games on the bounce and everyone seemed happy, I thought we were playing pretty **** and would get found out... Anyway, apols for the rant, but it has been brewing for a while.
Well, good for you. Everyone is entitled to their view and it most certainly doesnt warrant being trashed, or does this make me less of a 'fan'. Then again, perhaps your view is symbolic of the average football fan. Well done you, perhaps next time you could offer up reasons why you feel this - just saying as this is a forum...
We didn't have this amount of whimp fest, even during the darkest days of relegation, what has happened to the expected and traditional resolve of a Saints supporter? It isn't as if we haven't been in this situation before, it is part and parcel of being a Saints fan. If you cannot stand the heat move away from the source.
Stripped of any decent player? Hmm. Ok, VVD not good enough? Austin with his 10 goals not good enough? Bertrand? Romeu? Fonte? Just a handful of "decent" players in the team at the moment. Can't say I disagree with this TOO much, the board took a gamble that I completely agreed with and it's backfired a little. The way the club is being run? Seriously? How can you be pissed off with the way the club is run? Would you rather we were in the capable hands of SISU? Or had an owner like Vincent Tan or Massimo Cellino? We're lucky with the way we're run, and I fear people might only realise that when Kat's ridden off into the sunset. Year on year improvements for 7 years not enough for you, whilst having the team ripped apart for the latter 3 years of those 7? The way we keep improving, despite all the **** that gets thrown at us, is something to be commended and someone, somewhere is obviously running the club in the correct manner. Or perhaps you are more annoyed about player sales and not paying enough on wages? Well FFP has something to say about that, and there is only so much we can offer a player before we hit our financial ceiling. Annoying, but true. I highly doubt we woke up on July 1st and started planning for that summer ... we monitor players for years for crying out loud. Romeu and Tadic are two known examples of players we watched for 3/4/5 years. Roll on the new owners? As I said above, the way the club is run now, I fear will only be appreciated when they're gone and we have someone new in who does things the wrong way. I will say to you, be careful what you wish for, as I fear it's going to go even more badly with a potential new owner. Still an improvement on last year isn't it? Surely a cup win is a cup win, no matter the competition? Recruitment, investment and playing style is unforgiveable? Why? Redmond has potential but is very raw and inconsistent, Pied is injured, Hojberg looks a damn good player, ditto Boufal when he's fit. Shall we mention our previous recruitment skills over the years? VVD? Mane? Pelle? Tadic? Alderweireld? Romeu? Forster? We have, I think it is, the 20th most expensive squad in Europe, so clearly we are investing quite well in terms of money. Would you rather we were bankrupting the club and spending what we don't earn like we did before, or like Cortese was planning to do? The playing style I grant you is slightly dull, but there's a reason for that and now we're out of Europe, it might well change up. Who knows. Enough of a response? Most fans will support their club through thick and thin, I was there when I saw us relegated from The Championship and rather than stay away because of how the club was being run, I kept going because of my passion for the club, and the support the players needed.
