After watching yesterday's game I have to say that I was surprised at the lack of passion shown by the West Ham players especially as it was the first game of a new season at home. There is no doubting their quality on paper but as we all know its what happens on the pitch that matters. I was left thinking that they lack any real pace from Midfield and their goal threat looks pretty powder puff. Scott Parker didn't look interested and Nolan was anonymous throughout. The only player that impressed me was Matty Taylor with his quality delivery into the box and his dead ball ability.

Going back years and years when I watched my first game against West Ham back in 1975 when Clive Thomas robbed us of a place at Wembley, West Ham have always been a bit of a bogey side for us. The 2 heart breaking defeats in the play offs in consecutive seasons being the last such time that West Ham pipped us to a major final.

They are the bookies favourites to go up and I still wouldn't back against them even after a poor start to the campaign but I think that the club as a whole has this mind set that they will walk this league without putting in the effort. I'm sure Allardyce will have kicked some arse after yesterdays performance but on reflection they are beatable. Too many prima donnas still thinking that they are in the Premiership. I just hope that our destiny doesn't entail having to meet them in the play offs at the end of the season.

In short... i hope they get relegated again, and again. Can't stand their fans...never have, and never will. I remember as a 6 yr old in '78, saying i support two teams...Ipswich and whoevers playing west ham.

I think they strolled out expecting to win and played accordingly.
Imagine the shock when Cardiff scored and they all realised it was to effin late to anything about it <laugh>

And lots of empty seats on view too, which cant be good for a team that wants to move to the Olympic stadium! I think they could do a Middlesborough this season to be honest.

They were the same last season in the prem - fans and players seemed to think they had a divine right to stay up = until it was too late - then they all cried.

To be fair Taylor as you say was their best player by a mile, but they have no forwards, poor defenders and Mr Flappy Hands in goal.

Kevin Nolan, Scott Parker and Mark Noble in the centre of the park.... Plus Matty Taylor as well should absolutely piss this league. And to be honest I fully expect they will with Big Sam in charge, plus with Big John Carew up top I cant imagine many defences enjoying playing against them

The daft thing is even though Scotty Parker isn't blessed with pace he could do a job for almost anyone in the Premier League. There is no ego or past antics as with Barton so I can't understand why so many teams have been dallying. West Ham can't be expecting masses of millions for him and someone like Tottenham, even Arsenal could do with a player like him so if West Ham keep him it will be some coup.

    Cardiff fan,

Not expecting any credit for the work rate we put in to win that game but under Jones we never defended that well so perhaps other teams will see that get every player chasing the ball down might get a result.

No one wants a team like West Ham running away with it means its more open and better for our own chances.

Chopra can expect a good reception at Cardiff he did well for us.
