P.S. He flew here when he had a pre con anyway ? Ok , he flew here to have it confirmed at an airport . Don't want to upset you but HaWay
Why would an agent encourage him to do that? What purpose would it serve? Seems pretty clear to me that it was genuine. Even now when he's changed his mind, he's acknowledged the Sunderland fans on social media- why would he do that unless he's got genuine affection? its certainly not going to benefit him financially
Upper clearly believes Yann's agent paid an actual Sunderland fan to fly out to where ever Upper thinks Yann was at the time, and carry and script out what could only be described as a social media soap opera to fool all the Sunderland fans into thinking he wanted to sign in pointless exercise that would hold no benefit what so ever. Hmm, elaborate. No offence mate but you're utter barmy
Not too bothered, based on his performances OVER last Season. I wonder if he has had a better £££'s offer. In Russia he was said to be on over £100k a week. We were, it was reported, only prepared to go to £60k. Then there is the suggestion that there WAS in fact a pre-contract in place. These are binding contracts and as such COULD have been enforced. So it looks as if The Player changed his mind. Better that he did that BEFORE he had joined us. Rather like the girl who says no to the proposal and thus avoids an acrimonious divorce later. However there seem to be quite a few Fans who feel The Club are s at fault and perhaps should have tried harder as the Window closed. As to why we didn't I wonder if a look at the players CV might provide the answer.---- M'vila's career to date. Aged about 15 he left Amiens FC Junior team , - Friction Mantes -' lost his love of the Game' Rennes - Did well as a youth player progressing to first team where at 19 the Manager questions his attitude, and drops him back with their Amateur Team. Change of Manager got him a new contract that was extended to 2015. After a very good start The Fans got on his back due to 'perceived under performance'. By April 2012 he was regularly Jeered by them but backed by his Manager. Jan 2013 Off to Russia. 2013/14 Winter Break, went AWOL causing a fall out with the Manager. July 2014 Loan to Inter Jan 2015 Inter sent him back following a fall out with Roberto Mancinni. Was sent to train with Moscow Dynamo, but they declined to sign him. July 2016 Joins SAFC. Where he becomes a 'Fans Favourite'. When SAFC failed to sign him in Sept he protested on Instagram which apparently irritate Sunderland's Owner. ----------------- Few Managers have succeeded in handling him. Sam Allardyce was one of the few who did. It may well be that David Moyse, who is at last seeing a TEAM develop, didn't fancy the odds of his being another.
Definitely a "colourful character" to put it kindly. It's good this way. He left a hero and won't come back and turn into a villain. Good luck to the lad. Both parties will move on.
His enfant terrible reputation is hardly a secret. Its well known that trouble has never been far away. If it hadn't we would probably never have signed him in the first place as he's also recognised as a very good footballer. All of this just comes back to the same thing though. A footballer who is much better than what we currently have in our squad actively asked to come to the club. The club decided, rather than pay what would have been under the odds for a player of his quality, that they would try and box clever to get him for 'nothing' and its backfired on them leaving them with egg on their faces. Its just yet another piece of poorly conceived and poorly executed transfer business.
Russian websites seem to be alluding to a deal between Newcastle and M'Vila including a deal for M'Vila to remain with 'Ruby' for the rest of the season on loan. Hey, the Russians are starting WW3 afterall.
I'd come down on a big player for us - don't underestimate the positive Moyes Dour Effect on his ex - toffees Anchibe -rejuvenated , Fellaini hopefully will follow. Pier is too old Don't mention Rodwell who I think was ruined by injury and inaction at Man City. WE need to trust Moyes who imo is starting to live up to his early reputation at Preston - KTF
Sorry mate but are you joking? His reputation at Preston? Not his reputation at Everton... The reputation that got him the biggest job in British football? I don't disagree on fellaini, I've said it often that he could be a very good player for us. I just don't think we should be throwing what is silly money around for him.
Absolutely barmy. I've never seen anybody try to deny something so blatantly obvious before in my life... Do you understand what social media is?
Social media is PR mate. Once upon a time it was pretty innocuous. Now it's an incredible spin machine. I've got nowt against M'Vila but his social media output is an utter con. Little better than the old kiss of the badge.
I'm a bit confused with people taking the MD/CEO/DOF side in cases like M'Vila and Alvarez to be honest, it's blatantly obvious that they go from one **** up to the next, and blindly defending the staff who make these decisions just seems counter-intuitive. JMOOC
While the first part of that is undoubtedly true, why would M'Vila still be acknowledging and thanking our fans on social media now that he's changed his mind? It benefits him in no way whatsoever. It can only be that he felt some genuine affection.
Know what you mean, if I'm on of those you're referring to... I don't side with the administration at all. I side with the club. The administration, rightly or wrongly did what they felt was best for the club. M'Vila did what was best for him, as well he should, and the club/its fans won't have come into his thoughts.
